The days of the camshaft may be coming to a close.

Please god limit this to american cars only. I can't stand the idea of ricers running around with their cars in first gear at 10,000rpm.

Oh. My. God.

The higher overall gearing definitely gives the Mustang an advantage off the line though.
Jeez... I was gonna say the same thing but was too lazy to type. It's refreshing to see someone who understands how these things work.

My mistake. I thought you were basically sayings it's pointless to have a 3600lb+ performance car.

Just saying. Humble people are always the best people.
If a billionaire decides to spend that much money on a vehicle, then it's his/her decision.

Imo i would upgrade to the 2010 GT500. One of the best mustangs ever built imo. Its night and day compared to the 07-09 models. The new GT's are going to be dime a dozen.

On a side note...it's always fun to watch those things because you can take bets on how far it will make it down the track before something goes wrong and they shut it down. I've still yet to see one make a full pass live in person

TO THE EVIL TW1N : Rooad and Track is a reputable magazine and I'm sure their test numbers are what they got. When they mentioned the 1/8 mile runs it was in the context of running with the locals and such. So far Motor Trend, which I subscribe to, is one of the only magazine besides the specialized magazines like Mustangs and Fast Fords or 5.0 to get these ridiculous numbers for the Mustang. I believe the company which owns or used to own Motor Trend also published these specialty Ford magazines. You seem to be a lot more knowledgable about cars than I do, so I apologize if I've said anything in error.

There's a reason that it sells so well...and I don't even think Toyota has it pin-pointed yet...so they are going to change as little as possible until they have it zeroed in on. That's what I suspect at least.

I had a 73 Corolla and it would not die. I finally replaced it with a 67 Camaro with a 396 out of a Chevelle SS. I bought a new v6 camry se in 2009 and traded it in for my Camaro SS. Toyotas are boring! I just bought the Camry because it had more horsepower than an 86 Vette I used to own and a 95 Z-28 I owned. It was still boring though.

No, your GT500 has more potential in the power department .. fully built block / low compression made for boost vs high compression engine that may not hold boost very well (lets see what the engine can hold) ..
