When I owned my house there was a lone male coyote that was about 50-60 pounds that hung out around the neighborhood. He was harmless enough and would hang out on the canal during the day. Problem was at night you didn't know where he was and you'd have to listen for him. Might not be huge but I wouldn't want to tangle with something that big, could have been a Coydog given the size.

Yeah Van is 90lbs. And all the coyotes we have seen cross the pasture have been pretty small, 50lbs. But youre right at night they are sneaky unless they are howling up a freaking storm. Anytime an ambulance goes down the main road the coyotes go off.
