So I am looking for yet another hand gun and wanting some opinions on these. If you know anything about them or have them please give me your impressions and opinions.

I have narrowed it down to these.

Kimber solo carry
Sig p238
Sig p938
Kahr pm9
Kahr cm9
S&W bodyguard .380

After reading reviews and whatnot I am leaning towards a sig or kahr at the moment.

I have a Kahr 9, the better one (cant remember if its PM or CM)... built in laser, extra mags & leather holster, total about 1000.00. None of my handguns have a safety, want similar function to my Glocks. I have put 200 rounds through it with NO issues at all. However when I clean the gun, I must watch the video on "how to" !!
Did get a little rust on the mag release button, close to my body, sweat I guess. I am happy with it.

The pm9 is the better one. The cm9 is the lower cost version.

I have a P238 Equinox that I carry daily (small and light).

Kimber is a boutique gun that I equate to wearing lace underwear for some reason.

Also I've never cared for S&W autos or Kahr but... to each their own.

Ya I am really not wanting the s&w especially after reading several reviews.

Lmao I think the Kimber is a beautiful gun and has a good feel but there are some slight drawbacks to it and I would be afraid to beat it up for EDC.

I really like both versions of the sig and kahr pocket carries. Mostly it will be a gun that stays in my car but small enough to carry if needed. I have tried carrying my other hand guns but they are just to big, a couple different 1911's and a couple different glocks.

My edc is a Kimber ultra carry 2, the most dependable auto pistol I own, and I wear Hanes..... no lace.

EDC gun should go bang...Every. Time..... FTE, FTF, unacceptable.

EDC gun should fit you, and be comfortable to shoot. It should be more familiar than the back of your hand.

Most important....... GOOD training is more important than the pistol you shoot.
Train. A lot.

A pro will shoot even a bad gun well. Train.

Do you not find that a little heavy and big for EDC vs a micro or solo?

The only time I feel the weight is when I have to use a public restroom

A good stiff belt made for carry distributes the weight so you don't feel it as much. The ultra carry 2 is not a very large pistol, and anything smaller is uncomfortable in my hand.

Since I always shoot larger frame pistols, if I had to shoot a compact frame in a stress situation, it would be spray n pray. With a large frame, I would be confident with 2 in the chest at 20 ft. under duress.

Makes sense. I have shot a lot of rifles, shotguns and handguns but I can't think of any small pocket carry guns I have shot hence my questions. Going to a range today that rents guns so hopefully the have a few small ones I can try out.

I am trying to decide if I want a small one or not. I am very confident with my large frame handguns and know I can hit my target......granted under duress you never really know what going to happen. It's just difficult to conceal the large frame guns or put them in the center console.

For those of you brave enough to carry .380, what ammo do you like? I just switched to Gold Dots in my LCP and am happy so far. I think I load GD's in all my defensive pistols.

Mr Twisty I went and looked at a Kimber ultra carry II today and I really liked it. It's a good size. Not to big not to small. I may have to say screw it and buy two guns lol.

There are cheaper clones of the 1911, I have a R.I. full size w/ tac rail, too big for edc but a dependable truck gun, and my son has a R.I. compact very similar to my Kimber.

Kimber is top shelf parts and built to higher tolerance than the RI's, so much so, that the Kimber doesn't like to run dirty, but is more accurate. The RI is a dirty girl, but dependable and accurate enough for edc.

The Kimber has needed nothing in three years, the RI needed safety work, but otherwise a fine shooter.
