Don't get me wrong I have been on a road course before and more power to the people that like that, but the majority care about straight line acceleration.. Ford put line lock in the 15 Mustang, when does that get used on a road course? 99% percent of you tube videos are from a dig, roll or 1/4 mile track and very few road courses.
I recommend reading it in context and not focusing on one word. I said "But just as the GT500 lost to the ZL1 in magazine reviews, the hellcat will do the same if it can't hook or turn."

You must have missed the part where I was referencing the fact that the magazine reviewers aren't just focused on straight line or pure advertised HP. And must have missed that I said can't HOOK or turn.

Although I probably don't agree 100% with any one reviewer, it's hard to argue that their collective reviews don't represent the collective buyers same thoughts. And the collective reviews pretty clearly stated the ability to turn was a win.

We'll have to wait and see how the hellcat performs once it is released. At this point it still has something to prove beyond HP.

It's more than that. The reviewers pick the ZL1 because it is a more balanced and refined ride that you could live with as a daily driver. Its a muscle cars. It's a track car. It's a comfy daily driver.

Edit: and its repeatable.

The SRT-8 is not even the same ballpark with ZL1 or GT500. They brought a tennis rack to play rugby.
The 2015 BMW M4 ran a 12.1 @ 119mph in the current issue of Car and Driver. How's it trapping that high with 425hp weighing 3600 lbs? The ZL1 has 155 more hp and traps around 119. The 400 extra pounds in ZL1 really soaks up that much hp?

I just watched this and I'm a little stumped...this guy states that the Hell Cat is the "FASTEST" muscle car in history ....But how can that be without numbers? " I'm a fighter pilot but I can't prove it".......http://youtu.be/4fU7rM6qaMc

They also said it would have over "600 HP" and everyone said no way it would have more than the Viper...hmmm... Rumor from a magazine states during testing the manual ran 10.9 and the 8 speed auto was quicker... We will have to wait and see......

Yes, that is still impressive IMO... Regardless of whether it's Ford, Chevy or Mopar I would still tip my hat....

Source of rumor please.

Edit: this along with the GT500 1/4 time suggests
GT500: 5.86
Hellcat: 6.29
ZL1: 7.10

^^^^ No.... that's why I said I'll wait and see, however I don't think those times are unreasonable with good drag radials & driver now knowing the hp/tq ratings....
