For sure you can see the difference. Keep up the hard work.

The booklet that came with my scale lists Recommended Body Fat Levels as follows:

Age: Men - 20-29, BF 14-20%. 30-39, BF 15-21%. 40-49, BF 17-23%. 50-59, BF 18-24%. 60+, BF 19-25%
Anywhere in the above numbers is a pretty good place to be, and for women the recommended numbers are as follows:
Age: Women - 20-29, BF 20-28%. 30-39, BF 21-29%. 40-49, BF 22-30%. 50-59, BF 23-31% and 60+, BF 24-32%

The older you get its natural to have, and be healthy, with a little bit higher fat percentage.

I started at 30% BF and now I am down to 23%. My goal is to get to 20% and once that happens I will try to get down to 18%.

Does the word "Compulsive" pop into mind??? Easy to get carried away/obsessed. Like everything in life, too much is not good, and its so easy to become fixated on goals/numbers. I don't like my hubby to ever get leaner than 18%. Too freaky and gross to be that ripped. Pro bodybuilders only stay around that 6% for short amounts of time because its Super Unhealthy! And for women it's even worse, much more damaging. Funny how a sport was built around such extreme health levels. Now even middle school kids are using roids, their bodies haven't even fully developed yet, can only imagine the kind of permanent damage being caused.

A guy hubby worked w/his 14 yr old son was benching in the mid 300s. Trained under the guidance of a Pro Female Bodybuilder. Seems too young for that kind of intensity. At 16 he held the school record for most bench press reps at body weight, something like 36 reps! Although it does seem like a very fair way to strength test. Instead of a set amount of weight, everyone gets on the scale and you lift your own weight.

It's a good measure of strength endurance but not maximal strength.

Sports in school, scholarships, etc is much more "competitive" now than when we were in school.

I hear ya, but for max strength tests, the only way it could be done fairly, you'd have to factor in body weight. A puny little 100 Lb kid isn't going to be able to lift nearly as much as the 200 Lb kid. But if he can lift more than half of what the 200 Lb kid, isn't he actually pound for pound lifting more compared to his weight? Seems like the guys that hold world records are big huge overweight guys themselves. There not lifting 3 or 3-1/2 times their body weight like some of the smaller guys.

Lookin' good Monchy!! Keep up the good work.

I am still battling this cold or whatever and am feeling guilty that I haven't stuck to my HIIT schedule. I am hoping to get back on schedule tomorrow. On the plus side, since I have no sense of smell I'm not hungry and didn't over indulge this weekend. LOL.

I was referring to the bench of bw for reps....

In theory yes but it is not a linear equations no matter which formula you use. To weigh between 150-200 and bench 300-400 (raw) is a pretty substantial accomplishment. To weigh between 300-400 and bench 600-800 (the same being double body weight) is much more rare. You can see based on the records vs what the % of the bw was done....

http://www.powerliftingwatch.com/rec...aw-bench-press

These are the most common coefficients used. The second one factors in age as well.
