Sesami tahini is very high in cals and it's almost all fat cals but, yes, they are good fats. It also has protein, calcium, vitamin's E and B. Because of the high fat and cals you must only use small amounts, just add it in to your macro counts and you will be fine. It can be used on many different veggies and is the main ingredient in Humus, that is why Humus is considered healthy. As I mentioned before you can try this, get a liitle garlic salt or mashed garlic, lemon juice and a tiny bit of olive oil(a little water if you want to thin it out) and it's quite tasty. You can also get some Joseph's oat bran, flax seed and wheat pita bread(very low carb and healthy) sepearate the loaf and spread a small amount of the tahini mixture above on it, I usually put it in the oven so it gets crunchy, it is kinda like garlic bread. Just don't go crazy with it but it is quite flavorful so you don't need much anyways.

Dr Oz doesn't actually endorse to many products, if it's on a web site it is not an endorsment by him. Anyways don't waste your time, many of these miracle foods are bull, they usually do contain small amounts of useful nutrients but not near enough to be of any benefit.

Quinoa is an excellent substitute for rice. It is the only non animal protein that is a complete protein. It is a good source of fiber as well. It is high in carbs so again fit it into your daily allowance and your good.

Thanks for the info. I forgot about the "garlic bread". Is there a decent pasta that's good for a healty diet? When I think of garlic toast I always think of spaghetti- can that be made to work into the diet without blowing
everything?

There are whole wheat pasta's that can be used, again portion size is important and as always, as long as you don't exceed your macro's you're ok. I often have previously prepared meals that are 1 cup whole wheat pasta and three of the high protein meatballs I posted the recipie for. Again starchy complex carbs should be somewhat likited and best eaten earlier in the day, for example lunch.

Previously prepared spaghetti is one of my very favorites!
I'll look for the meatballs and use that instead of ground
beef and that will help

Turkey meatballs or the recipe I posted for turkey and chicken meatballs are a much better choice than beef much lower in saturated fat you can also find whole wheat pasta in a lower glycemic version which is beste

Thought I'd give an update. I'm now down 3.5 lbs and keeping calories around 1500. After the snow storm yesterday I still had 1000 calories allowed after punching in 4 hours of snow shovelling lol, but I was satisfied with the 1500 total I had taken in.
My poor Camaro got buried after I got to work yesterday lol not post related but thought I'd share where some of my burned calories went lol

Good to see your making progress, small steady amounts add up surprisingly quick when you look back.

I'm to familiar with shoveling snow to burn calories, I'm in Foxborough MA and we were just blessed with 28" and I've got a good sized driveway.

Well sorta proud with myself I guess. Have gone to the gym the past 3 weeks 4 days each week which is the longest period of time I have actually been working out/doing exercise in a long time. Been able to go with a friend and it def helps, whenever she doesn't wanna go I motivate her to go and vice versa. I do feel a little bit better, not as depressed as I was. When I go to the gym I usually lift some weights and then run. So far the only thing I have noticed is my endurance has improved. First was only able to run a 10mil mile and knocked that down to an 8min mile. My weight hasn't changed at all which is kind of ruining my motivation.

I'm guessing I am not eating right . I usually don't have time to eat breakfast lunch and dinner so I usually skip breakfast eat lunch and just dinner. Also don't have too much time to cook, not to mention I hate cooking for just myself, which means I usually just go out and get something. Since I literally work all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday I end up going out to subway to try and eat something healthy but usually by Sunday I am tired of it and get something different.

My eating habits have changed much from before I started working out and after. Before my weight would stay around the same, prob deviate +/- 1lb or 2. I figured if I added exercise then I would lose something but I guess that isn't the case.

So I guess I am just asking for some help/advice.

It seems you are putting a lot of effort on the exercise part. That is very important for oveall health as well as elivating metabolism and energy levels and adding shape and definition to the body but the reality is you must get your diet in check. There is no way around it. Skipping breakfast or any meal is not desireable and there are always ways to fit nutrition in but it does take some effort. Breakfast can be as simple as a scoop of protein powder in water or milk and a peice of fruit but you have to eat.

If you follow this thread you will see those who have the most consistent fat loss have got a good handle on their diets, not a lot of "oh I messed up days" or so called cheat days but consistent good eating habits.

Good morning. I cooked the "brownies" from the cookbook and the fritatta recipe. The brownie recipe is rather a pain to cook and the name should be changed, as they are definately NOT brownies. At first I thought the were barely edible but they do sort of grow on you. I think the name caused false expectations. I liked the fritatta. I had it for supper & packaged some to take for lunch this week. I used red & green peppers, onions, spinich & a little turkey bacon. I also weighed & took stats with both my scales & calipers. All stats were exactly the same but like a pound less weight. I know at this stage my progress is going to be slow & not show up much on the scales & in other stats. As long as it is going in the right direction I will be happy. I can still see the results in the mirror too. It will also help when I find me a new class. I need the motivation of a class & the push from the instructor & peers. AND I really need the stress relief I get from a class. I have some following up on leads to do this week. I have also had some back pain lately which has been discouraging. I have determined it is from a bad matress. I bought a new one & it will be delivered Wed. That kind of pain I hate. A little soreness from working out does not bother me. I also really need to be getting better sleep. Hurry up Wed!
