BARBARO (long story how I became a huge Barbaro fan. And I can totally understand if people think it strange to put name of horse who met tragic ending on my Maro'. But for me, it just feels right.)

Some other horse names that would work for the right person: Limiting to 7 characters, which is limit in MN

RAGSY-(Rags to Riches)-won Belmont in 07'-first filly to win that race in over 100 years.

SMRTY J (Smarty Jones)-won 04' Derby and Preakness

BIGBRWN-(Big Brown)last yrs Derby/Preakness winner

RUFFIAN-legendary filly of 70's, met tragic end-She was dark black, so such a plate would work very well on a black Maro'.

(Speaking of color, I was leaning toward RJT, which is closest to Barbaro's, but I just don't dig that color, so will probably do Victory Red....Ha, same color as the blanket of roses he won in the "Run for the Roses" known as the Kentucky Derby

8BELLES-(Eight Belles)-another great fillly, sadly died in 08' Derby

AFFIRMD-(Affirmed)-last horse to win Triple Crown, in late 70's

No, I'm no longer a big fan of the "sport"...too many horses have gone down, and much needs to change to make it safer. But that's a discussion for an off-topic thread, of course.

Never done it before so just wondering how you go about ordering a custom plate? Just through the dmv? I can get what I want now even though I don't have the car yet? That's cool. Anyone who has custom plates know about how much that will cost me? Hopefully not rediculous.

Texas bought and paid for today: 5TH GEN going on Enduring Freedom plates.

Will have to go on the Lexus until my baby is born. I'm not a special plate lover, but this is a special car. First time for everything.

GLBL WMR was killer, but Texas only gets 6 characters. First choice was 2SS-RS first but came back as pattern too close to someone elses. so if you are in Texas don't waste your time on these two.

I decided on my new one though, and I'm not going to tell anyone until after I order it

But... can I order it now without putting it on a car? Just curious. My car won't be in until later, but I don't want to miss out on getting this plate for it. Thanks!
