Typically I would agree, but the quality of the dash plastics is becoming a big deal in the automotive world. Throw soft-touch plastic on the dash and you instantly have a hit with reviewers. Hard-plastic brings up words like "cheap."

My mom got an 03 Escalade brand new back in the day. The interior SUCKED. Even though I was just a kid, I could tell how crappy the dash and steering wheel were. We didn't keep that Escalade long, mostly due to gas mileage.
