As for how long I have been working, I started off as an intern in February of 13, got promoted to OPS in September of 13 and then full time in December of 14. I have been in the same organization for all three positions and I have learned a lot from them. More than I have learned from school honestly.

Good stuff! Yeah, half of the full timers at the desk we co-ops before, then worked PT, then eventually got promoted when the other FTs moved on.

Put in that effort now and you will be glad you did down the road.

I know what you mean by learning more at work.. I didn't even have a degree in CS, but expressed my interest in the field due to my love of technology (along with having an A+ cert that actually proves I know the fundamentals). School would never have taught me about 802.1x auth errors, how to deal with stolen equipment, how to properly handle a difficult end user, how to negotiate office politics and handle professional communication boundaries.. etc..

Radiation safety/protection. I'm a practicing health physicist though, not a researcher.

Good. You're not one of those PhD shmucks whose life is dedicated to testing the effects of mountain dew on a gerbils sex drive in between the hours of 9-11pm during a waning crescent.

So, how'd you get into that line of work?

I worked in the same agency as the department that regulates the nuclear reactor we have in the state and they wanted me to work for them. So they hired me, sent me off to Oak Ridge to get educated on it and here I am.

I have a degree in Industrial Technology, so a lot of my coursework was applicable anyway.

In the tech field, a degree doesn't hold nearly as much clout as passion and experience imo. The latter two mean you're willing to constantly shift with the tide which is extremely important in a field that literally upgrades overnight.

That said, I'm finishing my degree off, but I really just look at it as the "Hey did you know..." filler for the tricks and whatnot I have learnt on my own. Knowledge is always power.

Depends what your going for the solo sounds deeper and a little more aggressive. The outlaw is louder and higher pitches. If comparing axleback to axleback. I would personally go solo. I am running borla atak

Almost sounds like Arkansas. One day it's snowing the next your wearing shorts cause it's hot.

So, we are under a freeze warning from 11pm tonight until 9am tomorrow. And whenever this happens, the whole state basically shuts down.

Haha Oklahoma recives some of the largest temperature changes in a day, it is very common thoughout the year to see 50 degree temp changes within 24 hours. Minus a city North Dakota, Oklahoma holds a record high of a 110 degree temperature change in one city within a week....
