Ooh, I've heard this one. It's that British author of the "Time Machine", H.G. Wells.

New quote: "For every action there is an equal and opposing reaction." More or less, I ain't looking up anything...

You're right, it was H.G. Wells, from "The Island of Dr Moreau" (I downloaded a whole bunch of free classics on my Kindle, reading that one now....)

Yours is Sir Isaac Newton....

The wife says it is a pearl of wisdom from Robert Louis Stevenson. As a boy in 1963 I visited Edinburgh, Scotland for family reasons with my grandmother. His tomb was the first I had ever seen, it's in a cathedral there. I was fascinated that a real dead body was somewhere inside that sculpted monument. I had recently read his story of "Kidnapped" as well as "Treasure Island". It was highly cool.

New quote, it is only a partial, I forget the earlier part. "And cursèd be he who moves my bones."

Shakespeare...

Not sure if this one has been in here before, not going back to read every page...

Yeah, you ARE correct! It's part of the Immortal Bard's epitaph, self-composed no less. I've read it myself there in England.

Your quote sounds like sumpthin' Ernest Hemingway would've said, am I right?

yup.... I just saw it last night and liked it...I've got a son that played professional baseball, and he wasn't so hip to it...

Had to get some help from my father-in-law on that one... Joe Tex, who I've never heard of, from a song I've never listened to. Do I need to get out more????

Here's a good one for today
"Death is very likely the best invention of life. All pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure, these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important"

He's right, Joe Tex it was! Now your quote has gotta' be from someone who died today, Steve Jobs. Thanks for the lead in hint.

New quote: "Happy trails to you until we meet again."

By the way, the reason you didn't get the Joe Tex quote is because you were born too late; be happy about it. Those of us who recognize such things have one foot in the grave.

C'mon y'all, you've heard that one a thousand times. Hint: it was coined by a woman, and she and her husband said it at the end of every episode of their TV program from the 1950's. Cowboy stuff...
