You know it's funny that you say that because we do get some oddball stuff over here. I've seen a Chrysler version of a Dodge Magnum. It looks like a 300C station wagon. The Jeep Liberty is badged as a Cherokee. The list is endless. However, we do get American stockers over here too along with right side drive rice burners. Who knows which Cruze I'm looking at? Could be anything to tell you the truth! I'll take a photo of the next one I see and post it.

Cruze is the same all around the world, the only difference is powertrains and suspension bits.

But overseas markets do get weird stuff. Like the Opel Antara was the Saturn Vue here, the GMC Terrain in the Middle East, Holden Captiva in Australia...

Yes I have driven it, sat in it, poked around in it and it still has a horrible feel to me. I will post pics later when I get home but to each his own. I really didn't like the fabric on the dash. The car felt slow as molasses but I do have much faster cars to drive daily so I can forgive that considering the segment it competes in. Overall I give it a .....Meh.
What other cars from this segment have you driven lately?

I ask because it is very easy to "forget" when we are blessed to have a daily driver that is much different. I have been guilty myself when I start criticizing cars from different segements until you realize you could buy 3 or more for the price you paid for your daily driver (that you are comparing it to even if you're trying not to )

This car won't appeal to a lot of people on this site...It shouldn't. I personally wouldn't want one as a daily driver either, but like it or not your average buyer is not a crazy car person like a lot of us on this site This is a great car that looks and feels much nicer than other cars in it's segment, is stylish (for it's segment) and most important drives great while getting terrific mileage!

And yes I have driven one too

Then you wouldn't have to 'downgrade' if you ever have to drive her car for some reason!

Any pricing announced for these yet? The mrs. is looking to get into a new car probably next year. we're considering a new focus or even the new fiesta as well as it was impressive for a little cheap thing.

The only quibble I have with this car is that it could use more power, and I think when the 2012 Focus arives with an ecoboost 4 cyclinder and I think a 6 speed DCT, That is going to hamper the cruze sales a bit.

Can't say what GM does or does not have in the works, but don't assume there is a high volume of buyers that will want or be willing to pay for that car. For most customers, the 140 HP 1.4T will be just fine.

Remember, GM had a 260 HP "ecoboost" (yes, even my friend at Ford had to educate his work mates that GM beat them to the punch by years with an SIDI turbo 4 cylinder) in a car that set the class record at the 'ring. It is sadly not in production anymore due to low sales. The only knock on that car was the interior. Cobalt SS, we miss you.

And you will again see the 2.0T DI engine in the Regal soon.

And don't misunderstand me, I think the Focus will be an outstanding car. It's beautiful in many respects. I hope both do well..........just hope the Cruze does better
