Done. Suggested no bailout or "bridge loan".

Done, this should be a stick in all the forums.

I never check this one. I was searching and found it by mistake.

I only read the top four; General, Photos, Pricing, and V8.

Done! And I made sure to put down my us.army.mil email address - maybe that will help me get in with my republican reps (darn oklahoma!) even though I'm a libertarian.

This is for everybody and anybody who wants to help GM, and consequently; our country!

If you have any notion of what's going on in the economy, and specifically, the auto Industry; you know it's not pretty. And if you've read recent posts on that subject by Fbodfather, Hylton, myself and others (I apologize for not being good with names) and even remotely agree with us...then I strongly urge you to follow the hyperlink and DO something about it.

http://www.capitolconnect.com/gmfact...e/default.aspx

This site has been prepared by GM (I assume), and has a letter all ready to be sent off to your local representative and state senators in Congress regarding the gov't loans to the auto Industry. It doesn't take but 2 minutes (not exaggerating) to fill out your name and email address, scan over the to-the-point letter, and click 'send'. Your representatives are there to listen to YOU...to represent YOU in the big hall. YOU voted them in (well...that may or may not be true, but you get the point) so USE THEM!!!

I won't harp on anything here...but if you are unsure of your stance on the subject, then please visit this site, too. It helps to break down the facts in clean black+white lettering. At which point you can decide to be for or against government assistance to the automakers.

I think it's about time we all started doing something to help this country...and you'd be surprised just how far a "silly" letter can go.

Thanks for your time...and please do it!
Dragon, I agree with you and I mean you no disrespect, but if such a letter were to be forwarded to Congress, it needs to have more specific details. Whoever the author is here clearly speaks in generalities pertaining to what may or may not occur if action is not taken. Politicians may speak this way to absolve themselves of taking responsibilities they should be taking, but that doesn't mean we have to sound as ignorant to these very real problems that would surely consume us all.

I propose we all make a brief, but detailed account of how the auto industry would complicate each of our lives personally, should it dissolve, and where a plea can become larger than life. A testimony of sorts, that affects real people in very serious manners.

This gentleman also needs a spellchecker. Need to look intelligent in order to be credible.

I voted No. Im not sending the letter.

I think bailout money has 2 sides... Its bad... and its good.. Good cause the industry needs the money and people can keep their jobs.... but Bad because the government needs to stay out of corporate businesses. Plus that extra money shot out into the economy actually makes the US dollar less valuable because theres more money in circulation.
