should be interesting to see where it falls on the performance/price spectrum.

However, I will say that the much improved interior materials and the increased focus on performance and weight control would seem to support those rumors.
The Z won't even be on my radar if it starts in the mid 30's. As much as I want a 2 seat, nimble sports car, it would be hard to lose the backseat, power, and looks of the Camaro if the base price is the same as a (more or less) fully options Camaro. Aside from just weighing what each package has, the Camaro is just more of cool car....cannot beat the looks, power, and hopefully handling for the price.

I can't believe people are having a hard time swallowing this new design. The exterior has not changed that dramatically, and why should it? This car is a hit in its market segment.

If you want drastic design changes, look at a 2008 Acura TL compared to the new 2009 redesign. That's a disaster.

THis car is going to MOVE. At that kinda weight with 350 bhp it will easily pull mid 4's to 60 and depending on the power curves and drag high 12's in the qtr.

Plus with it being that light it is going to handle like it is on rails. It will be in the SS comparo column for sure. STI, Evo, 370Z, SS, 2010 Mustang GT will all be fighting for the king of the strip/track award

3000lbs 350hp...

i think nissan did a good thing with putting their $$ into weight reduction instead of a bigger engine... you dont need a huge engine when you have an 800-1300lb weight advantage

332 hp

"The new Z will reverse the recent automotive trend of bloated model redesigns by featuring a reduced wheelbase and more lightweight body pieces."

makes me wonder...

Its lighter than the current 350Z and with more horsepower. So for a guestimate, look at the stock 350Z 1/4 times and knock of just a few

Its weight is slightly reduced from the 350Z... Which weighed around 3300lbs... As to exactly how much is unknown

the 07-08 350Z does 0-60 in like 5.2 and the 1/4 in high 13's stock... so it should be just as good if not better...

"As expected, the 370Z will offer a serious performance upgrade over the current 350Z. The 370Z will ride on a shorter wheelbase than the current car, and will also use more lightweight materials. Those changes should net a lighter curb weight, meaning all around performance – acceleration, braking and cornering – will see a marked improvement.

The 370Z will also use the same 3.7L V6 found under the hood of the Infiniti G37 coupe. In 370Z-guise, that powerplant will make 332 horsepower – a 26 horsepower improvement over the 350Z.

Those 332 horses will be sent to the 370Z’s rear wheels via either a seven-speed automatic or a six-speed manual gearbox. Of note, the six-speed 370Z will be the first vehicle to offer a synchronized downshift rev matching system with a manual transmission."
