Do what???

They sell them as fast as they make them, and some dealers still have markup on them. The only reason you don't see more of them is that Dodge won't produce more. Why they won't raise production is beyond me, but of course they were the ones whose previous business decisions led to their bankruptcy.

Still not sure why Chevrolet doesn't have good commercials for the Camaro.

Saying "they don't need them because it's selling". That's just arrogance. The same arrogance that got American Car companies to the point of getting their asses handed to them by the Japanese car makers.

Think about it.
part of the reason there are very few camaro only commercials is due to the fact that the car is selling like hotcakes.

another (much larger) part of the reason is because the Camaro isnt the long term bread winner in the GM production lineup. Sure, GM is backordered on camaros right now, but out of the full spectrum of GM cars, its still a drop in the bucket. There are too many other cars that will outsell the camaro that need to be the primary focus of GM's advertising campaign right now.

not to mention, its not cheap to shoot and air a car commercial these days.

another thing to think about.....We had craploads of commercials for the 4th gens and see what happened to them.

and yes, I know that commercials (or lack thereof) is not the reason for the end of the 4th gens back in the day, just food for thought

I personally think chevy beat out the competition, if there was any, to be in the movie. maybe they blew their wad on transformers? it's a hell of a way to promote your car, imo.
when Michael Bay was looking at different auto makers for vehicles to use, GM showed him some "concept" vehicles and Michael Bay made his decision after seeing the concept camaro.

Chevy really should make a cool commercial for the camaro. Advertising won't hurt, but not advertising might, especially when ford and dodge are advertising their pony cars. Sure, everyone knows the camaro is available, but do they know it's affordable and a good buy? They sure as hell have had the 31mpg 305hp v6 mustang rammed into their brains after the new Ford commercial. GM should be advertising to counter.
the camaro is hardly the focus of "plenty" GM commercials. There are a lot of commercials out there that have the Camaro in them, but only a handful where the Camaro is the primary focus of the entire commercial.

and since we are on the subject of "GM needs to do some advertising for the camaro".... I figured I'd resurrect this thread.

In at least a few of the new chevy lineup commercials they say at the end after just showing all the other cars and talking about warranties and stuff, "like the all new chevy camaro with ______-" I've seen at least two of them so far and when the camaro first came out, there were more. I've also seen one where they talk about the design awards the camaro has received.

You must live on a different planet than I'm on. I drive past a dodge dealer to work everyday and for a year they've had the same three cars sitting there. Where I live their're not marking them up because they can't move them. If the ones on the lots were moving they would make more. Look on the web some time, their are still some of last years models sitting on lots for sale.

Seems like GM's ad focus right now is trust. It seems to me though that you need to move quickly beyond trust being the major ad focus or people will focus on why they didn't trust you.

As far as the Challenger goes, it seems like they are right at the sweet spot. They sell every one they make with no need for incentives but they sell right at about MSRP with no mark up either. If they made a thousand a month more then they may break that balance. Plus there's no way Challengers will save Chrysler- they need to plug their bread and butter lines while the Challenger stays an image car.

I found that it's a pretty cool commercial, they could have gave a hint of the exhaulst note at the end though

Actually I live in Austin, Tx.

Go to South Point Dodge's website and look at the prices on their Challengers. Notice they won't post them online....

the camaro has had a ton of advertising...so cut the bull. this is the first real challenger advertising in a long time. they didnt need to advertise it because it's not there mass seller nor was it selling poorly.

just admit when a badass commercial is made. this is one of them.

That could mean many things. Look, I love the challenger. It's a great looking car ,but they just aren't moving were I live. I just looked on dodge's site and put in my zip. Now mind you I live in rural Pa. In a hundred mile radius their are 289 challengers sitting on lots and a lot of them have been there a long time.
