LOL the bike isn't even in the garage yet and people are helping you mod it
. (Don't take that the wrong way, it's great)

That warrior is a nice bike - if I were to get a late model bike, it would probably be a warrior. With V&H radius exhaust - heh.
As it is, I'm very happy with my maxim. It gets along quite well - much faster than any new 650, thats for sure. Its a standard so like has been said before, looks like a cruiser but leans a bit easier. Of course, my preference is a bit off here because I'm 5'8" and 125 lbs. ![]() I think you'd be quite happy with that warrior though. - X

![]() If the 8200 was modded out.......... bike + tax tile & insurance plus riding gear is gonna be close to 10k then your first mods will push it the rest of the way. Glad your eager but should of stuck to your 5k plan, which would mean spending 3-3.5 on a bike and 1.5-2k for the rest you will need. And it is your first bike, id perfer lighter n more nimble, the warrior is a bad ass but its no light weight. |

Keep looking and be patient. You'll find a better deal. Bikes are in the tank right now with this economy. But don't wait till the spring and the sun comes out, because the prices jump for a little while.

The market for used bikes is up and of course parts for bikes is up but sales of new bikes is definately down. With the economy being the way it is, people are not going out and spending 10K+ on a new bike at least not in my area.

I've heard mixed things at my local shop. Everything's slow for winter here, but I guess Ducs and BMWs have been doing well while HDs have not. I heard Suzuki wasn't going to import any '10s until the 09s got off the lot.

When you can pick up a nice used bike for 2-3k that can get 50-100MPG that anyone can fix as it still uses carbs... Or a done up 10k bike that you need 3 degrees & a fat wallet to fix that cost as much as a eco shietbox car with 4 seats heat n AC......... they went just as nuts as they did with SUV's on the fancy goodies to up the prices. |

But you have to admit that the other part of advice I gave was look and not buy the first thing you come across is GOOD ADVICE. That was more the premise of my advice.

So over the past few days Ive rode a few bikes, the Suzuki which I realized was actually a M50 when I got there was ok, The Virago was by far the most comfortable the position on the handle bars was causing me some issues with my arm....which was surprising. the V-Star wasn't as comfortable as the virago, but didn't give me any arm issues? The Warrior was almost as comfortable for me as the virago, and didn't give me any arm issues. Also seemed to have a better center of balance than the suzuki, and v-star. Torque is in abundance with brakes to match.
Ended up getting the Warrior it's a 2006 with 7000 miles on her, actually bought it from one of the mechanic's at the yamaha dealer, unfortunately he sold most the aftermarket parts on rswarrior.com. Price was 5500 out the door! I originally had a budget of 6K, but since I've got really good credit (710+) I just took out a loan for 5500. I forget the intrest rate but Ill end up paying back a total of 6100. Got the insurance too for 320 a year, which I assume isn't too bad. Just got to set up the saftey courses, and get proper gear! Thanks for all the input, you guys are an invaluble asset! |
