Ok, the Cruze is replacing the Cobalt. It will have a new engine that will get 45 mpg. It is not a hybrid though. 4 cylinder. It will be sold all over the world and is on the Global platform.

I live in NE Ohio where the whole community works for either Delphi (Formerly GM) or GM at the plant that makes the J car (Cobalt & G5). That is how I know this because it is all over the news because if they go away we have nothing.

Showed my wife the pictures and she said after it is released and she can go and see the actual thing, she may want to go and trade the Mazda3 in for one.

merged the threads, Dobbins.

since gas is slowly lowering in price...I wonder if the Cruze might actually come with perfect timing. If there's another spike in prices, it may get here right as final panic sets in...same with the Volt.

Thanks Dragon! forgot about this thread. and you have a good point. Is there anymore news on the Aveo replacement? The Beat wont be coming b/c of crash standards right?

Apparently, the cost involved with retro-fitting the Beat for US crash standards outweigh bringing it to the US when it gets reengineered in some years.

There's also talk of the US getting one of the other triplets, though.

2010 Chevy Cruze + 45 MPG = Death of the corolla and civic.

I wonder how anyone can even justify buying a prius when the Cruze gets as good fuel economy also costs a few thousand less.
