tide is exceptionally brutal this year even with the freshman QB. the system is rigged so probably be Team Urban for the big show. of course you never know. $$$

Exactly. Season should be extended by ONE game for a bowl game. Screw this playoff crap...I don't care for it. There is absolutely NO reason to play these games. It doesn't prove ANYTHING.

The problem is, we let the genie out of the bottle. Tradition has been RUINED by the introduction of the BCS first, and now playoffs. All for money. It's ridiculous, and a reason I don't really care about college football anymore. At this point, players should get paid, because they certainly aren't there for an education anymore.

Where else would we tolerate a BILLION dollar enterprise existing off of the use of free labor?

Sure they get scholarships, but most of them don't have the time, ability, or either to major in something actually useful. Plus those scholarships can be pulled at the whim of the coaches so you better stay good at football or on the trash heap you go.

So most of the players either don't graduate or end up with a useless degree.

Meanwhile everybody else involved gets rich. Very rich.

I'm only bringing in automatic conference champions to the playoff to give those conference games and the title meaning. You still have 3 at large ,or my preference 7 at large bids. Your 4 'best' team playoff is better than 3 or 7 best plus teams that earned conference championships? Ok. Oh, just happened to be watching the North Dakota st v. South Dakota st ,1 seed vs. 8 seed in the NCAA FCS championship playoff game. So division two football gets a 8 team playoff with teams not many people care about.. But teams that bring the NCAA BILLIONS of dollars get four, sounds right to me.....

Look...for college football to be meaningful, if you want to be accurate in who you rank #1, then let the NCAA handle scheduling for the last 5 games for ALL teams in ALL divisions.

10 game schedule. Bowl games at the end of the year, just like always, with one designated as the one between #1 & #2 based on the scheduled games for the last half of the year.

First 5 games are scheduled by the schools, against 4 conference teams. Strength of schedule matters. The last 5 games are generated by the NCAA, matching teams of similar rank to help weed out those that don't belong, with an 2 more conference game mixed in. Based on those games, a choice is made for two teams to play in the Ultimate Bowl, with all the other bowl games reverting to the traditional matchups.

Frankly, there is no way my idea is any worse than the BS that is currently college football.

Buerocracy brought us this, so you want to give us more? Look, FCS,division 2, has an eight team playoff, bring it up to the big leagues. How much money would tv pay for a 'real 8 team tournament? How many billions would that bring to the schools/NCAA? How much do they pay for the basketball tourney? It's nearly 2017, not 1974, get with it!

yeah, but what if you get into a situation where a lot of Seniors sit the bowl games out due to fear of getting injured? More and more are going in that direction. They all love the game, and all want that paycheck to play on Sunday afternoon. If I was a potential high draft pick, I don't mind sitting out a game. I've had my college fun, time to move onto the Pros and see what I could do. That's just my opinion, but you could potentially lose a lot of key players in a big game that people would now, not care to watch.
