this is why I got rid of my Audi B7 A4 with the 2.0T and got my 5th gen LS3.

Had me scared cuz I do use Arco.. always used Arco on other vehicles with no issues as well *knock on wood*.

Thread title is misleading.

When port fuel injection came out, a few years later we had to buy a walnut shell blaster to clean the deposits left on valves. A couple of years ago we dragged out the old blaster, blew off the dust and got a new bag of walnut shells. Direct injection means valve deposits. You can use a good top engine cleaner every couple of years, or wait until it gets pricey. By the way, a good catch can does help.

I have 2 EcoBoost DI engines that will probably have this same problem but I will trade them at 30,000 miles. The next owner can foot the bill for cleaning.

If the mechanic told you, and honestly believed it was due to low quality gasoline, you really need to take that car elsewhere for service.
