5.3 vs 6.2 for new Silverado?

Not sure what the color of the truck has to do with this discussion but simply put the 2008 5.3 was rated at 315/338. The 2014 5.3 is rated at 355/383. The '08 is down 40 hp and 50lbft of torque to the current 5.3 (plus the peak torque is made at a lower RPM in the '14). How do you consider this to be the exact same? If you reread my previous post....I said I agreed with almost everything you said, including the fact that the 6.2 makes a lot more power and torque versus the 5.3. The OP specifically stated: I don't pull a ton of stuff but I do pull some and would like to be able pull my car around with no problems. The current 5.3 would be more than capable of pulling his car on occasion if he's concerned about fuel economy.

All I was trying to say was that they are the same truck, just 6 years difference and an engine upgrade (black, 20" wheels, wood grain, power everything, etc., etc., etc..). An '08 LTZ vs. a '14 LTZ. Sorry man, I was just trying to help out a fellow member and give the OP an honest/fair comparison.
