If you plan on making more power start with tires. The OE Goodyear's are abysmal, won't hold 578 rwhp worth a damn. Can't wait until these things are toast so I can get some RE11's or Pilot Sports.

interesting discussion....my '13 ZL1 went to Livernois, rear wheel horsepower at about 725....runs and sounds great, but almost impossible to get it to hook up...

Can't argue against Livernois, they've been cranking big power out of the LS platform for a long time. Nice numbers, assume head/cam/headers/ID1000's and a lot of porting??

On the contrary, I do think it needs more power. I don't think my car is any quicker than any other stock car, I just spend more time at the track. Seat time, plus great sea level tracks when the good weather gets here, all accounts for the decent times. I'm sure if more guys would run their cars in the fall, there would be a whole lot more cars on the fast list. Thanks for the kind words though

There is no doubt in my mind though that a stock ZL1 will run in the 11.5s before it's all said and done.

Honestly, I think these cars (CTS-V and ZL1) are kind of anemic until you do a pulley, air box and tune. They're heavy, you need the extra umph....

Yes, 0-60 in 3.8 seconds is pretty anemic.

I guess it's all what your used to. It needs the power to get out of the hole.....then you need a tire.

I think it's more fun personally having less hp and beating up on the car that should be faster at least on paper.

The beauty of Ford and Dodge is that they offer the Mustang and Challenger with a warranty.

And im sorry, but the only reason you guys are so enamored with road racing is because as GM guys, thats where the zl1 thrives.
