Are you aware of how many more complications are associated with having a female getting her tubes tied? Compared to you being uncomfortable for a couple of days.

That's why I did it. She went through all the pain and discomfort of child bearing and child berth. I just figured I could man up and do my part.

Had it done a while ago and no pain no probs. You may want to make sure the Doc. has plenty of experience in the procedure. NOT A BID DEAL AT ALL. Hell I went back to the Gym 72hours late and not one problem / pain.. Roger

Seems like a few here got some bad docs who did theirs. I had a lengthy talk to my doc about everything before going in....including how many he's done and the complications. There weren't ANY issues with mine except for the fact that the anesthetic given to me didn't quite cut it. It just felt like a constant kick in the balls as he was cutting...but not THAT bad. (then again....anesthetic does not work that well in any fashion on me...strange)

I'd recommend it. Just make sure you check out the doc who's doing it before getting it done. Find a friend who's had it done and have their doc do it.
I need to research the doctor

I probably know 10 guys that have had the procedure, not one had a bad experience.

Well 1 guy did. They got all swollen, but that was because after the first day they felt ok, so he decided to resume his marathon training! So as long as you take it easy, it will be OK.

Mine was done by a Urologist. He has done over 14k Vasectomy's in his lifetime. The process was a no scalpel technique. He made one small hole in the middle of the scrotum under the penis with an instrument. They can then spread the skin open just enough to get to the two sides. Once he's done, there isn't even a stitch. It's pretty high tech now.

He offered me a sitting position with a mirror to watch. I declined the generous offer!

I wanted to, but they wouldn't let me. They probably figured I'd pass out or something. I would have LIKED to have seen how they did it. My wife wanted to watch and I told the Docs it was fine by me....but, they wouldn't let her. I'm like..."dude....really now...it's not like this is an everyday deal for her to see my "parts" get worked on." They still wouldn't let her.

Regardless, I researched the doc...talked to others who got them done by the doc, and everything was fine. The anesthetic DID work...just not like I would have LIKED it to work.

It was once incision, took no more than 10 minutes to cut off and tie both tubes and sow up with two stitches. It was cake. And the benefits outweigh the day of being uncomfortable!

Really...this is the way to do it. And should you ever decide on more kiddos, you can just reattach. Now I hear THAT....is the painful and more time consuming part.

Just go to youtube and search for vasectomy. There are tons of videos that show the entire process. It's incredible!
