Not quite sure what you're...this was not from Ford. I'll leave it there.

Cats out of the bag now. Ford cares, that's who. It's been making them money. My guess is quite a bit. Guess what else, NOT just "fan boys" are keeping it on the road by buying it. You don't have to like it.

Do you think the Camaro would be back if not for the success of the Mustang & Challenger?

Well, they are building and selling them year after year. That can and should be seen as a success. I don't believe that they were ever going to try to compete, sales numbers wise, with Mustang and eventually Camaro. So, they're making money and I'm sure hitting their modest sales goals. If they weren't, Challenger would be discontinued, that's what companies do with failures.

Well I think because the challenger is sharing a platform and everything else with their other cars that it males it easy to keep the challenger alive ! So chrysler prolly consider the sales from of all of their platform sharing cars combine not just the challenger!

I do believe that Challenger is the only Chrysler vehicle currently utilizing the LC platform.

Going by your first post, the way you said Ford may have a problem and that you said "a 2015 Mustang", I was under the impression from your post that this was simply a Mustang GT from Ford being offered for auction to charity. I think a few others in the first part of thread also thought you were talking about just a regular car from Ford

Now from your last post, you have cleared up that it was not a production car by being offered by Ford. Sorry for the confusion haha

My comment about "fan boys" were in regard to your post where you list continuous production as an Mustang achievement, to which my reply is only fan boys care about that nonsense. Enthusiasts care about who makes the best product, fans boys cheer about their favorite product. WGAF what Ford thinks, you do, apparently. I said nothing about not liking Mustang, I addressed your flawed point and nothing more.

I notice you selectively quoted me as well. I mentioned Suburban in my post too, as it is hold the longest continuous production run in history. So what though. That doesn't make it good, or any better than any other vehicle just because it's been continually produced. That was the point. I also brought up the continually produced Corvette, which in it's continuous build cycle produced the late 70's C3, which was as much of a turd as the Mustang II was, of course, you also left that out....

Like I said, no one other than fan boys care about Mustangs continuous build cycle. Nobody cares, dude. Just stop holding it up and something to be revered because car enthusiasts are laughing at you when you do.

The foul language seems unnecessary.

However, regardless of the overall poor performance and hilariously hideous design of the Mustang II, no one who knows anything of the late 70's would call it subpar for other vehicles of the time. Mustang II had a sad 140hp 5.0, Monza had a sad 140hp 5.7, Camaro had a sad 155hp 5.7l.

Another point to remember is that once again as pitiful as the Mustang II was, it sold, over a million units during its 4 year run.

Was it a good car? No. Was it what Ford needed to keep selling cars during a sad, dark, time in automotive history? Yeah.
