I think you are looking at the ESV. The SWB Escalade is $63,745. I'm guessing a $6,000 hit. But I hope I'm wrong.

Number 3 the $63,745 was the 2013 Escalade MSRP. The 2013 Escalade ESV MSRP was $66,345.

These are the MSRP of the 2014 Cadillac Escalades:
2014 Cadillac Escalade $67,970
2014 Cadillac Escalade ESV $70,570

I got them from the Cadillac site:

The first time the brake lights on a new Escalade break, the vehicle owner is going to regret buying the car based on replacement cost of that light assembly alone.

Boy Gm's latest refreshes all seem to be a failure. Just unappealing exteriors all around.

Gotcha. If they bumped the '14 $4,000 then I wonder how much the '15 gets bumped. Probably goes over $70k then.

Hopefully they will keep the msrp under $70k. Starting at $69k would be good. Got to think about the competition

This. Too boxy, and I don't like the taillights at all.

I'd take my mom's 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude Edition over any of it's competitors. It has a 360HP 5.7 Hemi and came fully loaded for roughly 36K. A total steal in my opinion, plus the 6 speed trans means it gets respectable highway mileage.

If I could pick any SUV though I would rock a Porsche Cayenne Turbo S so hard!

I think once the initial shock wears off people will like this Escalade more. We've been use to the last Escalade since 2006 (as a 2007 MY). This is a departure from it.

I remember all of the comments about the C7 Corvette Stingray when it debuted and people talked about "why did they do this?" and "It's going to flop". But when people saw it in person they realized it made sense, and now the plant is cranking out C7's fast as they can fulfilling orders. I'm sure this will be the same way.

The only real competition the Escalade has at this point is the Mercedes Benz GL

The biggest difference between the two is that the GL has 2 more engine options than the Escalade does:
GL 350 BlueTEC
3.0L Turbo Diesel V6
240 hp/455 lb-ft
$63,000

GL63 AMG
5.5L Bi-Turbo V8
550 hp/560 lb-ft
$118,160

Hey Fen, how do you think the Escalade would do if it had a small Diesel engine? I guess like the Duramax 4.5L that never made production.
