I understand, that was why I joined the Navy. I still haven't finished my degree, but I have a good job from my Navy training in electronics. If you can't finish school right now, do what your heart says to do. And when you do get into the military take advantage of the tuition assistance the military offers. I would have an even better job now if I did.

Thats a tough one. I joined the Marines right out of high school with every intention of going to college after four years. I never got around to it. Couldn't. I got married and had two kids while I was in the Marines. If I were you I'd finish school and then if you're still interested in the military, become an officer.

If you really think the Marines will be a career and you want to retire after 20, go in as an officer. And that has nothing to do with the myth that officers have it better, cus they don't. The bottom line is they make more money. They have more responsibility for sure. But you will set your self up nicely for a second career after you retire with an education and a hefty retirement check. Just a thought.

You won't be dissapointed either way. But Finish your degree. Whether you do it on active duty or before you go.

Hey Sir Charles,

The old air strip at Bitburg is now open for organized 1/4 mile races during the summer. It is about the only place to drag race here in Germany. I love Germany.

Reviving this thread.

I figured since we've had so many new members over the last few weeks I'd bring this one back.

Any Active Duty, Vets, Retirees or Reservists out there please chime in.

How do you like Fallon?

My Brother in law is an Airframer and is thinking about looking for orders out there. I've been there a couple times on Det but never stationed there.
