I'd be willing to bet that it's because you are going 30 in a 25. If you are in a school zone doing this, then slow down. If you are in a residential area, then slow down. If you are in a parking lot or parking garage or construction zone or the highway and the posted speed is 25 and you're going 30, then slow down. But don't sit here acting all self-righteous and making your neighbors out to be the bad guys when you are blatantly and purposely speeding and admitting to it. If you're still going to speed, then don't admit that you're speeding. But they have every right to yell at you especially if they have kids. Some punk in my complex used to fly through the parking lot all the time. I never got the chance to confront him but I was waiting for the day I'd catch him. However you slice it, the people yelling at you aren't jealous or bored, they're angry that you're speeding. And one day they're gonna set you up and a cop is gonna be waiting for you...

Can stationary people tell the difference between 30 and 35 as a car passes? come on now lol

The speed limit on my street is 30, I regularly see people doing 60 mph by my house, I know because I have a radar gun and have checked. I also see people on motorcycles go by doing wheelies right in front of my house, on weekends its terrible, I usually call the cops but by the time they get here of course it's been as much as an hour later the speeders are long gone. It just makes it so dangerous backing out of my driveway.

I have seen this alot with fellow bikers and straight pipe enthusiasts... My point was always even if you have loud pipes there is a way to make them quiet in a residential area. I would always go up an extra gear and cruise at night when entering a neighborhood with my straight piped bike.

if you live in the Miami area and are curious, there is no penalty for going 0-5 mph over the speed limit other than a warning (school zones do not apply to this). Ths also only applies to speeding violations.

Have had plenty of people tell me to slow down in my Pontiac G6 coupe (was like really a G6?) when I was doing 5 mph under the speed limit in my neighborhood. People see a sporty looking car and if you're young, they feel empowered to yell at you for having something nicer than them. Have gotten weird looks in the Camaro but haven't gotten yelled at. Kind of irks me because these are the people who blow past stop signs and do 30mph in the neighborhood then do 60mph on the road outside the neighborhood which is speed limited to 45mph, then like yelling at me.

Be unfortunate when your loud car isn't heard by a kid playing baseball in the front yard with his friends and runs out in the street.... just sayin ... maybe thats why you are getting yelled at. I got it when i had my 86 IROC and i too was going 25-30ish down the streets, then i had kids and see why the neighbors yelled.
I agree with this! In a residential area where the speed limit is 25, 30 mph is about 17% over the posted limit and very easy to tell the difference. When there are young children in the neighborhood, that can be significant. Whereas 60 in a 55 mph zone is only a out 8% faster and not quite so easy.

I like going fast myself, but there's a time And a place for everything
