Of course it's real lok at the handwriting, diffinately a cop or a doctor. Lol
My guess is an auxiliary cop.

Looks like a friendly reminder to me. Perhaps I am biased. I have had NUMEROUS encounters with LEO's and all have went well, on the town, parish, and state level. Heck, we accidentally locked the keys in a running SUV in our driveway once. Called the town police. They sent two cars. One to pop the lock and one to joke about it, lol.

Then they need to be stopped. This approaches "unwarranted search". With no cause to be snooping around presumably every parked car, they are overstepping (surprise!) their authority. This kind of thing should not be tolerated in the name of "our own good".

I'm sure those friendly "inspection" warnings are legit.......the handwriting is nothing to be suspect of, the last half a dozen new rookies I have trained have God awful handwriting, as a matter a fact I think my 10 yr old has better handwriting. It seems to be a trend, as more and more things are computerized the less emphasis there is on writing well/neatly. I don't think they even teach cursive writing anymore. I had to teach both my kids how to sign their names.

As far as police and quotas............... could it be happening somewhere in the country......sure..... however, as someone said they are illegal. I heard a few deputies in CA sued over being told they had to write a certain number of tickets and they won millions over it. This was a few years ago.
My dept doesn't make us write any certain amount, but I put it this way..... at the end of the shift/ or month you better have something to articulate your time on the road..........whether it be the amount of complaints you handled or contacts you had...you still have to show your admin that you are out there doing something or you end up without a job. Plus, they tell us especially with speeding to reduce all but the most flagrant violations down to the minimum fine/speed.

Take it as whomever it was doing you a favor. It is a very bad idea to leave GPS, radar detectors, shopping bags, ladies, purses, laptops, or other valuables in view in your car anywhere. My husband had his windshield smashed (on his Yukon) in our driveway because some idiot was trying to steal his GPS. We learned our lesson. Our security guard at work even fussed at me for leaving my little XM radio visable in the Crossfire as cheap as they are. Moving those things is worth the few seconds it takes to prevent damage to your car & loss of items inside.

I'd be a pyssed Fresno taxpayer if a cop had the time to check cars for valuables.
If a volunteer or cadet did this, well ok.
BTW, the search is in "plain view"', no search warrant needed.

I think thats pretty awesome. It clearly says its not a ticket. But for the police to make people aware that they are subjecting themselves to possible vandalism and theft is great. Most people have no idea that they are putting themselves in a bad situation. Back in the day I delivered pizza for Poppa Johns. I delivered a pizza and the guy told me to hold on he then went out to his car which was open reached between the seats and grabbed a bank envelope with about $500 bucks in it. I was like dude are you Freakin kidding me, I told him if we were in Philly you would be out of $500 fast. I made him aware that people come to the suburbs to steal just because of what he was doing.

This warning was more than likely posted by a CSO (Community Service Officer) or patrol volunteer who Donate their time to help make their community safe.
After being in the business for over 28 years I seen most and heard more.
As previously stated policies vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction.
So all the naysayers who think we just go around and screw with people, I invite you to come and take a ride with me for a shift. Then pass judgement.

Enough said.

Are you kidding me? Looking in peoples cars to see if they have shopping bags , and telling people basically they should not do that and drive home with your bags and drop off before doing any more errands . , Here is a ideal , How bout the time they spent snooping into peoples cars for no apparent reason , they take that time and find the punks that actually break into these cars instead. Just a thought.might be a tad more productive with our tax dollars!

Lmao, this thread is funny, and why did it get moved to the Corvette website? Anyways, if you are mad that you got this coloring book "ticket" you are crazy and need to relax. The op seems not to care but some others actually seem mad. I wish we had that around here, there are no warnings in brooklyn, just a street filled with broken car windows. And for the person who said its is an illegal search, its pretty much public view, its a window to a car not your trunk or under your skirt. I also doubt they pay this person to do this, complaining about tax dollars. This seems like a kid or auxiliary or community watch type thing. Maybe your car is nicer than most on the parking lot so it attracts attention, I know my camaro gets way more attention parked then a BMW or Mercedes. I would take this as a compliment and a warning(which is what it was intended to be)

If items were left in plain view...no one would have to find punks. Oh and by the way...who is it that broke into the cars and where do they hang out ? Could you also please tell me what car they are going to hit next? Didn't think so bright guy. It's called Crime Prevention!
