Let's put the pieces together:
Imagine a car that prices below the FR-S ($25,500) and has similar attributes. Imagine a car a little smaller than the current Camaro. Imagine it with 4 cylinders and a turbo. It's the entry level new Camaro. I'd bet on it.

We should do that for regulations too! (And we have to word it so that they can't cheat by inserting new clauses into the ones they get rid of and calling them 'new'. |

I just started telling my gf to look at the BRZ. If they release a turbo for the 2014 I'm really gonna get on her... Once she gets over the fact that this Subaru isn't meant for tree hugging trial mix eating liberals it's a possibility
![]() Not sure how Chevy can pull something like this off that is as aesthetically pleasing. I think Chevy can outperform, but its gotta look just as good too... |

![]() That has to be one of the ugliest cars GM has ever bothered with. Its horrible form every angle. Looks like some India crap from TATA motors. I think a hardtop Saturn Sky redux would be the best. Call it a Corvair Z24 or something. That 130 is wretched.

The FR-S is slow, but it wasn't meant to be fast. It's a handling car that shows it's stripes in autocross and other similar events. That car in the picture looks like the car Nissan was contemplating over 5 years ago as an entry level RWD to debut in 2010, but that got scrapped and pushed back, and now there's talk of re-inventing the 370Z into a smaller platform because of the entry price it takes just to get into the 370Z, and additionally they don't want too many models that may have a tendency to compete against each other. The current Z costs just as much as an SS and the GTR is up there with the Corvette. Anyway, wrong place, wrong time.

Keep in mind, Reuss only said GM was looking at creating a FRS fighter. The AutoBlog writer is who suggested it might take the shape of the 130R concept. I disagree with that suggestion.

Sure, when Toyota/Subaru decide to plant a forced-induction system in it, I am pretty certain it won't be slow, but then it may take away from that "magic" feel of a car in the sweeps and apexes that the FT-86/FR-S tries to recapture in the spirit of the AE86. Anyway, it is what it is.
