People who do this get banned all the time. Primary example is what you just did. You went into a thread, you recognized that the members inside take this situation very seriously. You also recognize how well the members are handling themselves and their posts by keeping things calm and rational. Then YOU come in and post everything that they don't want to hear. THAT IS TEXTBOOK TROLLING! You went into a peaceful thread and made a valiant effort to derail it. Then in the end, you call everybody in this thread pussies. You wonder why people get banned sometimes. You say that we have favorites. There is 70,000 favorites of mine on this forum that didn't go into a thread, thrash on a subject they know nothing about, and walk out calling everybody pussies. Only you.
You're my man crush

I love this quote, but I'd just like to point out that this quote was NEVER confirmed. There has always been a lot of talk that the media, at the time, released it as a statement to bolster the American spirit. Nobody actually knows if he said it or not, as far as I know.

That's why I live out in the countryside. I have a range in my back yard. Can shoot whenever I want to.

Never confirmed, never documented, never nothing. It is a made up quote but the point is all the same.

Just my opinion but I'm 100% behind keeping all politics, religion,... anything super controversial off this site. Keep it cars and anything else fun and positive in off topic.

Reason being.... I was into Corvettes for a while. That forum is big into discussing those contoversial items. And it is just horrible spewing of insults back and forth. It is ugly.

This site is first class, I find it refreshing and much more positive people to hang with.

Maybe some positive gun talk, it's a great hobby. But if it turns into bashing and argueing, flush any thread that is going downhill. Just my opinion.

I wonder if it would be possible to have two separate threads:

One thread to talk strictly about firearms themselves - Likes, dislikes, good or bad experiences, who recommends what, favorite ammo, pictures, gun porn (), etc.. All around just firearm stuff.

Another thread to talk specifically about rules and regulations on both a federal and state level - What do I have to do to follow the law kinds of discussions, How is the law going to change, What do I need to do to not get in big trouble, Who to recommend for concealed carry permits, etc.

Obviously, the political stuff will still be moderated, no need for bashing one party or another (or specific people, to an extent ). But I think general talk about how much of a pain in the rear a new law is going to be for gun owners is outside of the political discussion realm. Discussion on how to appropriately contact your representative to voice your opinions (whatever they may be) isn't really political discussion either. It's more of an informational discussion. How not to sound like a loon is always helpful discussion.

Where other forums have failed in keeping it civil, I think we can easily succeed, and even thrive. Obviously, the majority of that is due to the moderators being class acts. But I think as long as the members can self-police themselves respectfully, which they have to this point, I don't see why it can't be done without anyone getting butt-hurt

Plus, if things are particularly heated politically, you can close the "discussions" thread (to allow everyone to cool off) and we can still post gun porn in the other thread

Are you for real? This has to be the most obtuse comment about guns that I have ever hear. So guns are only for criminals and law abiding people shouldn't have the right to defend themselves? I can see that you have the mentality of a three year old. IE= our people in charge of this country these days.

People like you don't get at all. MOST people that own guns threat them with the respect that they deserve and have no intentions of ever killing someone. They enjoy the love of the sport of shooting. AR-15's and other guns like it are used more for enjoyment at the range more than anything else. Much like all of us with ZL1's and SS Camaro enjoy owning overpowered hot rods, it's the same thing. Sure you always have that nut that is going to fly down the road 120 MPH and kill someone, but does that mean that the 1000's of people that treat them with respect and keep it at the track shouldn't own one?

Maybe I should put it in terms that you can understand. Sure you could be content playing with the Thomas The Tank Engine three car set with one piece of tract, but you really want all the track, bridges, building, engines and cars in the entire set.
That's the same as many of us grownups wanting SS and ZL1 Camaros over V6 Camaro and AR-15's over single shot 22's. They are both more fun to play with. It doesn't mean we all want to kill people with them.

Why not get guns out of the hands of nuts and crooks that will kill you anyhow if they have the notion rather than law abiding people that aren't using them to hurt anyone other than people that deserve it anyway.
