Check first if you can evict her, since she's been staying there you may have to take a legal route to get her out the door. But like most said her stand your ground if she doesnt come through tell her it would be best if she leave. Show her how bills have gone up and tell her if you didnt have her you wouldnt need the money.

You have heard the consensus of your comrads. Stop letting her walk on you. Tell her no pay, no stay. Feel no guilt when you put her stuff to the curb. Enabling is a bad thing to do. It would be the best thing for you both. Then if you need a room mate, find one and have clear agreement, in writing, up front. You will feel better when you stand up for yourself.

Been there. After 2 years of being walked on and sexually harrassed I finally exploded and tossed the friend out. It got messy and I had to get the local police involved when the ex-friend broke into my house. Im also certain it was the same ex-friend that egg'd my Camaro on my birthday. I could have and should have pressed charges on him for sexual assault. -_- Nip it in the bud now. Sit down and tell the friend straight up what you need from them and the consequences of not doing it. Let them know you care about them as a friend but you got bills to pay to just like everyone else. A real friend would understand and do there best to help you out and respect everything you are doing for them.

Time to CYA!! Written lease agreement that is signed. I have been renting for the past 4 years. Just finished a 2 year contract that just ran out 2 days ago. But I will getting with my landlord to sign another year!!

Belle you've been more than generous and helpful to this point. If I was in your shoes I'd tell that "friend" she can pay or leave. I wouldn't tolerate any discussion or argument and the point will be made our relationship is on the line.

I wouldn't be rude or uncool but I would be very firm.
