That's so true. Bowling used to be a cheap way to take the family out for an afternoon (or evening). Now it costs almost $70 for a family of 4 to bowl 3 games. Our lanes offer a deal on Sunday evenings, where it's $2.50 a game but who wants to go out on a Sunday evening?

I've been bowling since I was a kid. Stopped for a number of years, then joined a morning women's league when my daughter was 19 months old because they had babysitting. 16 years later, I'm still on the same league. A lot of people have come and gone, and we're down to 6 teams from 16 when I started, but it's fun and I look forward to it every week.

My average is 149, not great, but I'm pretty consistent at least.

PQ, I notice you're a righty but your approach is that of a lefty. I bowl the same way because I've been told I throw like a lefty, so I have to stand all the way to the left. I shoot pool lefty too, which is weird, but I never knew I wasn't shooting righty till someone pointed it out. lol

Heh. I know. I'm not too worried about it, to be honest. I just bowl for fun.

A lot of times I don't even try to get a high score - I'll do things like try and bowl the lowest score I can without getting any gutter balls. It changes things up a bit and takes some of the pressure off, while still keeping things fun.

We used to do that when I worked at a center in Washington.

Best I ever did was 32.

We would add 10 if you hit the ditch. you gotta try to pick of the 7 and 10. Best you can score is 20, so 32 is pretty good.

I bowl on a once-a-month couples league. TOO MUCH FUN!!

I am no good at it but I love it. I think my average is 111. We have a good time.

Our team name is 'The Fun Bunch', but our first year in the league we were 'in it to win it' and we won. Then we figured out that even though we pay $25 a week to bowl they don't even give a trophy!! DANG IT! I wanted a stinkin' little trophy! I have never had one Anyway, as of last week we were in last place.

That is pretty good - I think best I've ever done is low 40s.

I'm bowling in a charity event on May 27th (Junior Achievement - PM me if you want to donate!)...I'm really really really bad (bowled two 90's at last year's event!)...but now I'm thinking maybe PQ could fill in for me!
