Oh, so that's what Gillig Low-Floor Hybrid means.

I so sorta know what you mean there. I went to college at UW-Madison, a place where some the bicyclists think the streets must have been built specifically for them, and not cars, because in their minds, cars should not exist. Only thing more annoying than the bikes were the mopeds.

Actually, you'll love this. The city buses in Madison have bike racks on the front of them, you know, to accommodate the bikers who ride 10 miles from home, than then decide they can't make it back. Imagine having a schedule to keep and having to take the time to secure a bike on the outside of your bus.

Supposedly the center of the road has less of that stuff.

I've often told my coworkers that I would love to transfer over to the police department on campus and just ticket bicycles all day for not stopping at red lights or riding around traffic.
I understand why motorcyclist feel it is safest to ride close to the center line but do they not realize when going around a sharp lefthand curve and the lean their bikes over their head and upper body are usually in the approaching lane of traffic? While driving in the mountains here I see this happen all the time. Many close calls I have seen because of this type action.

It is probably safer to jog on one of those tracks you see at high schools or at some parks, where large groups of people are walking and jogging.

However, if I was the OP, I would jog again on that same route and hope the "kids" come back. This time be ready for them. The jogger should have a video camera, and some kind of weapon.

I have heard of joggers being attacked my pit bulls, and all kinds of things. you should have some form of protection.

Try riding a bicycle on public roads, I get honked at, buzzed, cursed at, told I should be on the sidewalk. I had one lady go off on me and I caught her at a stoplight, she continued her tirade about how I'm a jerk and holding up traffic and belong on the sidewalk and I was pretty close to belting her with my helmet.

Some people honk because they say they want me to know they are there. Hi I'm riding on a public road, I ****ing figured out there may be cars on it. But i guess thats better than the people who come so close they can push the pedal for me.

Did you pull up beside her or stay behind the line of cars stopped? If you pulled up on the right then you violated the law. Maybe you need to read the rules for riding a bike on the public roadways. There is more to it than you may think.

Yeah I did pull up beside her on the right, because she was yelling at me from the moment she was behind me and while she was passing me and ahead of me. So I went there to give her a piece of my mind.

I know the rules of the road, hence why I posted about it. But thanks for the assumption.

Though I don't carry those items on my persons when I ride, however I can relate to the fact that most drivers are complete freaking RETARDS around bikes. I've been riding for the past 7 years and there were many times when an inattentive driver ran me off the road or almost ran me over. Every time I throw a leg over, I'm gambling with my well being. But...for some reason...I just can't stop riding....

Once--- ONCE--- I got a little restitution.

I watched a carload of teenage boys drive down my street. The car came up behind a couple of 10- year- old boys riding their bikes along the shoulder, and the swerved very close to them, still at speed, and one of the passengers hung out the window, and at the "perfect" moment SHOUTED at the boys. One of the kids crashed his bike, he was so startled... and the car took off down the road. Even from that distance, I could hear the howling laughter of the teenage punks.

The reason I was outside was because I had just finished cleaning the cat box, and was headed out to the trash can with a sack full of really foul cat litter, complete with lumps. I witnessed the punkass bullies act, but figured that there was a great chance that they would be back... probably just headed to the mimimart at the end of the road. So.... I waited, and did not discard my big sack of crap.

Sure enough, five minutes later, I saw the car approaching. I gave a friendly wave, and motioned the car over.... and those dumb a-holes fell for it. I approached the window, which rolled down. I said, "Hey, you guys look like you're having a good time... looks like you even get your kicks from scaring the crap out of little kids!" As I said that, I lifted the bag, and tore it open, dumping it into the car. The driver gunned it... gone. Never saw the car or the boys again. Ever.

You are welcome.

I do all my long-distance running at a time of morning so ridiculous, that I neither have to worry about stop lights nor other drivers bothering me.

I went and saw that movie. Not bad. Couple obvious plot holes though.
