Yeah, keep using that example as your baseline and you will be extremely disappointed when you line up with one with a driver who knows how to launch/drive the car.

Just for you, here is the good stuff in a nutshell:

Quote:
the result is a blast to 60 mph from a standstill in a blistering 4.3 seconds (4.0 seconds with 1 foot of rollout, like on a drag strip). In comparison, the 2007 Ford Shelby GT500 made the run in 4.6 seconds, while the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS did the deed in 5.0 seconds (4.7 seconds with rollout) and the 2009 Dodge Challenger R/T recorded 5.5 seconds (5.3 seconds with rollout). The 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT8 does it in 5.1 seconds (4.8 seconds with rollout).

Quarter-mile performance is totally awesome as well, as the GT500 makes its best pass in 12.4 seconds at 114.7 mph. That's not only a useful margin over the '07 car with its 500-hp powertrain, which did the deed in 12.8 seconds at 112.6 mph, but it also makes the Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger look like weak-ass sissies. The Camaro turned the quarter in 13.0 seconds at 110.9 mph and the Challenger did 13.9 seconds at 103.2 mph. The Challenger SRT8 does it in 13.2 seconds at 107.5 mph. We might have gone even quicker and faster in the Shelby GT, except for the 14-mph headwind we faced at this track close to San Francisco Bay.
Heck, even the folks over at Jalopnik had this to say about the 2010:

Quote:
On a cold, greasy strip, into a 20 MPH headwind, this drag racing neophyte wasn't able to turn in a time faster than 13.7 seconds. Experienced racers were able to turn in 12.3-second figures
So, folks who knew how to drive the car on a dragstrip were able to get low-12's with a stock GT500 despite horrible track conditions and a 20 mph headwind.

Yep, a stock Camaro SS is going to hang with that. Even with the same experienced driver, an SS is going to be lucky to dip into the high 12's, bone stock.

apples to oranges. price and Hp wise

The gt500 is One Really nice car,

especially in my town witch is full of ricers,

seeing a gt500 or chally in my town is the same as seeing a Ferrari or Lamborghini

Guys just accept that the gt500 is faster than the camaro SS for now

And to be brutally Honest,
As much I would love to see a 2010 camaro z/28 with a LS7, but With Gm current situation u do not see it happening

and didn't gm's performance division shut down,

So I'll spend $13,000 in mods on my camaro(to make it same price as GT500), and we'll see what we come up with...
