Yeah I do and if I get cited then ill do what I gotta do. I'm not gonna.come to C5 and whine about it like most do. I'm not above the law by any means.

Its hard to say.... could be alot of reasons.

On a multi-lane road I usually pull up next to someone and either show them .... hey its a police car behind you pssst.. slow down
or if its during the daytime I will give you the look over the sunglasses...like hey slow down before I pull you over. This happens alot if I have to try and pace out a car on the speedometer and traffic stops them before I get a speed on them. ( I only use LIDAR no moving radar.)

Hey I would rather an officer pull up on me and give me a look then pull my a-- over for a ticket ya know..
Very Vaild Point so over all due to that i agree and bow out

Me neather if i get pulled over for speeding and i know i was. I would bite the bullet and take my ticket. I would come on here to vent but over all i would take responsibility for my actions and just pay the fine. But if i felt i was treated poorly or unprofessional. By any means i would complain

Back a LONG time ago 10 years ago i was driveing long story short i got pulled over for no reason. He made up some excuse but did not hold water. You know the real reason? He saw i had 666 on my car (stickers) and gave me a bible lession on the side of the road. Told me i need jesus i was going to burn in hell. I AM NOT JOKEING so due to this and acouple other times. Cops abused there power over me i am warey of cops. I am not grouping them all in one and i respect law enforcement highly. Its just when i see a cop i don't know if he is one of THEM. Or a good one

so.. let me get this straight. jdenotter, you are a cop. you give people tickets for breaking the law. and you knowingly break the law. then you try to bash others on the forum for saying that cops do not always follow the law. this is just an example of why we "non police officers" believe what we do about cops. oh, and btw, theres no way you can convince me that if you got pulled over for your tint that one cop is gonna give another cop a ticket.

First off your argument about what I do isn't even near what we are talking about in this situation. Second this discussion is over with and hawk has settled the questions. Third, cops give other cops tickets all the time trust me a guy I work with arrested another cop the other day during a incident. So ya it happens. I do my and me having illegal ticket doesnt have a damn thing to do with it. As i said im not above the law and if i get pulled for it then so be it. Just cause I have illegal tint doesnt disqualify me.from doing my job. Everyone everyday breaks the law in some form and fashions. Heck there isnt a person in here that doenst
It all boils down to the severity of the crime. Some are less severe than others. Heck most the times I don't even give a ticket for tint. Its a fix it ticket. So therefore a warning is suffice. You can sit here and try to personally attack me all day long but I can careless. You don't know me so I can careless of what you think you know about the law or how things work on my end. You surely don't know me as a cop.

Hawk has squashed the argument about what happen in this situation and has made valid points that I agree with. If you want to continue this you know how to pm me.

most doesnt mean all. so this means you have given people a ticket and taken away their hard earned money while you are doing the same thing. its whatever man... i just want to say that you cant expect some people to like or even tolerate a cop when they do shit like you just admitted to. im not even mad at you, i just want you to realize how hypocritical it is and understand that there are some people(like myself) that see the things that cops do, therefore losing ALL respect for them. now i got everything off my chest.

I understand your frustration my friend and trust me I am not going say that I'm perfect in my actions every day.
Hell, if I was that way my avatar would be a picture of me as a guy with a beard and white robe with my arms stretched out to my sides if you get my meaning.
This all being said... I act this way especially in my enforcement actions... do I speed? okay yeah you got me hell I could sneeze, hit the gas too hard and go 5 over ooops!! sue me I guess I'm a hypocrit. This is why my normal limit is around 20 over to enforce speeding because I normally drive 5 to 10 over (except in 25 zones)
If I should happen to get caught, then like the others have said I get what I deserve just like anyone else. ( Especially if I'm traveling in VA.)
"WE" all try and live as close to being perfect as we can. Everything we do whether on the job or not gets scrutinized a hell of alot more than it would if we weren't on this job "we" are held to a much higher standard. If we do something wrong we are punished far worse than if we were a normal citizen. Everything places our job in jeopardy.
At least with my dept you have staff that constantly watches whatever you do...they look over your vehicles for violations, your license, your personal bills on and on...

In closing I'm just going to say that we aren't perfect and will never begin to make that claim, but at least for most of us "we" try. I'm sure if you were in my shoes you would find out the same thing...
Just remember you before you lose all respect... you need to walk for 10 years in my shoes and do what I've done and experience what I have on this job before you react this way. So, lose your respect, its your right... but I guarantee it will make things much harder on you.
Its also your right to "bash" if you want to.... unfortunately (for you) not on this site
