Mustang isn't as quiet on the inside but that can be attributed to the mods I have done. Base stereo is pretty weak. The Camaro base stereo sounded better. Lack of tire on the Mustang from the factory. Same could be said for the Challenger.

Let me remind you guys once again it was the Camaro owners/members who start these threads. Unfortunately there was mis-information posted and it needed addressing. You wanted to pick a fight as usual. What kind of reaction do you expect?

BTW - if I had cams installed in my car I am sure it would run 10's in good weather. Hell I bet it is close now. Does that upset you that a bolt-on 5.0 runs that well?
When I see one run the number it might....tell then...not a damn bit.

The guy at work has one...it's so awesome he won't bring it to a track. Hmmmmmmm

Watch out with which tune you use. I hear there's a lot of bad ones out there.
I've heard stories of this mythical creature.....where art thou?

I was going to just leave the weak ass LS3 tune in it....it's a lame tune so the mighty coyote will have no issues running hard on it.

Don't do that!

Especially if you have LT's and an intake. You can get a friendly/safe tune with this combo that'll knock your socks off.

1-4 shift i tuned out
torque limiting tuned out
Power enrichment tables changed... this makes a huge difference

I'm not sure who tuned your car initially, but i'm sure they would have no issues changing your stock tune for a few changes.

WTF is that

Ive driven and owned a bunch of manuals and Camaro's but never one that forced me to up shift 2 gears, that doesn't sound very American to me. Is the ZL1 going to have it as well?

It's been in existance since 4th gen camaro's.

called CAGS.. makes us avoid the gas guzzler tax. if you're at a certain rpm and throttle position is makes you skip to 4.. there are CAGS eliminators that don't void a warranty, but annoying light/message appears. And me not having a warranty, I just tuned it out.

Mustangs do have this..

I'm getting the car tuned on the 9th....right now it's on the OEM tune...although I shouldn't say that...right now the skip shift is tuned out, along with torque management. On the 9th we'll be changing the power enrichment tables.

That's how they got around the guzzler tax on the LS3.....the L99 has AFM. I highly doubt the ZL1 will have this feature, and I'm sure it will carry a guzzler tax.

Of course if you can afford a ZL1 you can afford the guzzler tax!

It's what happens when you try to propel a 4000 pound car quickly!

Link to stock tune/frpp cars blowing? Only one I have seen was NOXER and he, literally, said in the same post that he had recently mis-shifted into 2nd gear at freeway speeds before the break. Ford told him it was either due to nitrous (NOXER?) or over-revving (2nd at 70mph?) and he said both were bs. I'm interested to read others. . .

I'll put this in ford speak. It's something the GT500 had up until 2010.

What did they change to get rid of it?

nothing personal, but you are behind the times on failures.

the article is in the allformustangs forum. search it. they replaced his engine, and returned the tune on the new one. they told him it was NOT a tune failure, but rather the engine.

Trimmed the fat and dropped 120lbs with the new alloy block while increasing hp and aero dynamics and electric assisted steering was added.

Nothing like GM does to squeak by like with the ridiculous skip shift on the manuals and DOD on the auto's which only frustrates owners of said performance models. How bout you just do it right instead of making your customer pay for it with these stupid band aids that get in the way of performance on your new performance car...... My next prediction is they say F-it and just pass the GG tax on to its new ZL1 customers instead of trying to improve their product like Ford did for us 2011+ GT500 owners.

Oh boy.. I remember this, they had this on the Pontiac G6 and some Malibu's.. It was a death trap because some failed on the roads.

I hope Ford has ironed this technology out.

And I think Ford avoided the gas guzzler tax the same way this time.. CAGS. Atleast from what i'm seeing online.
