I knew a guy who was in the Navy, and he told me about a prank aboard ship that always brought out action of sorts. He called it "Stink Finger". Is this the same as your "hook finger"?

In all seriousness, some people are just terrible with names. They know that they already met you and should know your name, but they are too embarrassed to ask you what your name is again. Happens a lot. I get called "big guy" all the time by people that can't remember my name. Sometimes, I just remind them on my own. It makes it easier on everyone. I don't get offended by other people's lack of memory because I do the same thing sometimes.
