Not really getting ready to pull the trigger yet, I was just interested in the 392 model and decided to make a few calls to the dealer who sold me my past 2 trucks. If I could do the 392 as a near even swap i'd jump all over the deal but I would essentially have to hand over my Camaro keys and another 13.5k + registration and taxes. A bit much.

On a side note regarding Dodge customer service. My 2006 Ram had a problem with the recirc door issue in the ac/vent system. The door broke off of the hinges landed on top of the blower and blocked all air flow. I brought the truck to my dealer he gave me an estimate of $480.00. The truck is nearly 3 years out of warranty. After a little research I found it was a common problem, one call to Dodge customer service and they will cover the repair cost.. I am not sure if Chevy would have stepped up like that.

No way would I trade my SS for that. Now if your a Dodge guy, then I would do it, otherwise you will always be pining for it. Now if your the kind that just likes the next cool thing that comes out, well it's gonna cost you big time. I'm a Camaro guy. I can't imagine not having this SS. Go with a vehicle that you have passion for. If there isn't one, then keep what you got, until a trade makes sense.

392 looks great on the road. If you need the extra room for the family it's a no brainer, as you have looks-space-power. Go for it!

My SS is tricked out, except the 21" wheels and I only paid $37, about $9k less then a similarly equipped 392. Id rather wait for the ZL1 then pay that for a 392.

Comparing msrp's would be more fair especially since you had 21's.

I was saying I dont have 21s, that was about the only option I didnt get.

MSRP on the 2SS stick with sunroof and most options is $38k, a 392 with the same options has a MSRP of $47k. I just dont see what you are getting for the extra $9k.

If it's a known problem they would. I've had it happen.

Good to see you didn't have any trouble with Dodge, either.

Re: the SS....~44k is a huge pill to swallow for the 392, imo anyways. Do what you feel you should...I was just curious why you wanted to sell it.

Has anyone seen the inside of the "X-pipe" they use on the challengers?
I'll give you a hint, the quotations are there for a reason.

Are they seriously still using it on factory cars?

I can't imagine that it's good for any horsepower. Probably loosing power from one pipe narrowing down like that.

Actually, I considered my Camaro to be "fully tricked out" from the dealer. It was a black 2011 2ss, ground effects, premium sound, sunroof, etc. EVERYTHING on it EXCEPT the 21-inch GM wheels, and my total came out to be around 45,000 after taxes and everything. UNFORTUNATELY, it was totaled a couple days ago, and now after my physical therapy is complete Iw ill be car shopping once again. I was definitely thinking of the 392 in the redline tricoat, black stripes, and that came out to be 48,000 but invoice pricing of everyhting that I want makes it to be around 46-47,000. So I figured that I shall wait for the zl1 to come out, as well as teh 300c srt8, teh charger srt8, and then go from there.

my thoughts exactly... if they were the same price range as the mustang GT and Camaro 2SS I would see it... but that is almost Corvette or ZL1 money!!! I am a Hemi lover but no thank you!! I will keep that $10k+

but the car is ALSO larger, more comfortable and seats more people. So its not like its apples to apples even though theyre supposed to be in the same segment. The chally is the most different out of the pony cars. Also, it has those things weighing against performance and apparently its still faster than the SS and GT

With you budget being around $45k have you thought about 2011 GT500's. Sure they sticker at $49k but many members are picking them up for $44-$46k now. It's definitely worth a test drive at least. The new 2011 aluminum engine and all the other new features for 2011 make it the best mustang ever.

PM me if you want some more info.
