All US manufacturers had hot factory hotrod setups from 68-70, it was the peake of factory hotrods, even Rambler/AMC had the Javelin AMX.

I think it would work if done right. I dont think Chrysler did it right with the Charger. I was excited about Charger coming back until I saw it was a A-backward 4 door. The Charger was an intermediate sized Sports Coupe and it should have stayed a coupe. They f'ed it up as a 4 door with a truck grille.

I think a Chevelle would be nice, but lets face it those days of real street rodding is over for good. It will never be 1969 again when it was a free for all speed war and gas was cheap. Maybe we should be happy with our Camaros and Mustangs and Challengers ....and our memories.

I wasn't old enough to drive in 69, but I was into everything that was hitting the street back back because all the cars then had attitude. I used to love watching them street race from the getgo at stoplights. I finally got my muscle car in 1976 or 77. A Plymouth RoadRunner with about 70k miles on it. Kept it for 12 years.

Of all the Chevelles my favorite is the 65 SS and if it is a Z16 all the much better.

Malibu was a trim level of the Chevelle. We saw what happened to that name.
In 2016 we suffer the wrath of CAFE. Someone with the initials BO signed 36 mpg into law. FWD, Hybrid, electrics, 4 cyl, direct injection, hydrogen is our future. Enjoy performance while you can.

No, IMHO the 70 Chevelle is simply one of the most beautiful and attitude injected cars ever made. i just don't see how they could bring it back without ruining it with all of todays crash regulations.....

electric and hydrogen will bring performance. Sometime in the future, we will look back at these gasoline engines and laugh!!!
