Without showing me proof that I did something so illegal that it merits having my car impounded, theres no way in hell I'm letting them impound my car. Atleast not without me in it.
hahahahaha
that's a good way to get yourself in a bad situation.

What did you mean by your comment "That should get him days?"

PS my car looks like a tard with a hole in the tint. I'll post pics if anyones interested but I guess this forces me to take it all off asap and hence thats prolly why he did it. He said he wanted it for evidence! :(

He put the fear into me cos he talked about impounding the vehicle, so I was like on eggshells. So I had to comply incase he flipped and wanted to impound it. can he do that. What come back would you say to prevent a cop wanting to impound your vehicle? PM me if you wanna be private about it.

Many thanks.
"days" equals suspension. Now...if he were taking it for evidence, that would be different. But, I would look into that further with an attorney for your state. Cutting a hole for no purpose is damaging your property. But, taking something for evidence....yeah.

Can he impound your vehicle. Shoot...he can arrest you, put you in jail, AND tow your vehicle. Case law provides that to police in Arizona vs Stillwater?...I remember it was something water. Basically, mom let her kids run loose in the car while she was driving. Officer saw her, stopped her, and cited her. He told her if he ever saw her doing that again, he was going to book her. Well...guess what happened next. Yep...couple weeks later, same thing. The officer booked her because she knew and refused to comply for the safety of her children. We can book you for anything except speeding and open container in the state of Texas. ....yes...if you don't use your blinker, we can book you AND tow your car. Most of us won't do that unless ...well, you understand.

Just be polite. I could have written this younger guy 11 tickets tonight for his driving...and booked him. Instead, I wrote him for Expired Registration, Expired Inspection, and No Insurance....which he bought on the spot to prevent his car from being towed (he simply called his insurance company to renew his policy that expired two months ago). He will only have to pay for one ticket...the insurance, since the other two can be dismissed. Yeah, I could have jacked up his drivers license, but he was very polite. Simple as that!

I've actually talked to a lot of people while in uniform about Camaro5. Never on a traffic stop, but I am human!

I got pulled over once when I had my camaro for doing burnouts from stoplights. I was bored and it was the middle of the night - nobody was around and certainly nobody was hurt by it, I was nowhere near a residential area so nobody could have been woken up by it, and I never exceeded the speed limit.

Long story short he never actually saw me do it (just heard the squealing) so he had nothing against me. He just checked my license and insurance and told me to GTFO. Oh yeah, and he said "remember that you don't have to do burnouts just because you can."

Here in Missouri we have the same type of law...not only for skin allergies but also for eye issues. Bottom line is that if you had the letter, polite to him, and did what you could, you are in the right.

Go to the cop shop, file a complaint, and sue his ass off....it is illegal for him to do what he did. Don't let him get away with it!! If he does with you, he'll do it to someone else.

If you don't have the money to hire a lawyer to sue him, I'll contribute to your legal fund!

(PS: and if you are lying to the forum about this, may the fleas of a 1000 camels infest your crotch!)

(PPS: There is no 'police bashing' going on in this thread, just discussion.)

This cop, who booked me also for going through an amber light 3 years ago, just didnt care that I had a letter. I usually would have it re-tinted (before I got the exemption letter) but this cop said that if he saw the tints on it again, he will impound the car. Then he gave me a ticket, cut a big hole in my tints and left. Im thinking this cop hasnt been laid for months! WTF is wrong. I was totally courteous with him but he just wanted to book me!!!!!! GEEZ!

I got pilled over becuase according to him I "looked like I was 12". Since when does a 12 year old have facial hair?? Then he asked me to pop the hood I said "Nope, Go get a warrent and we'll talk." He called for a warrent a an hour and a half later, some new guy shows up with a piece of paper and the cop waves it past me, I ask him to see it he stalled so I kinda just took it and to my surprize it was a warrent to arrest some one dated three month before he pulled me over. I politlely took my license my registration and drove off into the sunset.

Oh and another thing.....

I have a brother who is a S. Carolina Trooper and a Cousin who is an Omaha PD. I have respect for them and understand all of the BS they put up with. But I've also heard all of the stories and know my rights.

BEAST:
Glad to see you understood your rights, stayed calm, and did the right thing!

Thats very generous of you but I'm not sure if I want to pursure this avenue. This is a very small town so it could back fire on me. No, Ive not lied one but on this forum, if I get time I will scan the medical letter for you all to see. Its just really frustrating to deal with. I do have the money, but I dont have the time or the patience anymore for this.
