WOW dude you need to chill. Are you are professional driver? I'll tell you I'm closer to one then probably most here. My car gets away from me at times too and this is with the best of the best performance parts on the market. Being a owner of both I will tell you the GTO is harder to control then the camaro. With that said, yes the guy should have actually drifted the car as that is what I have done in those situations and got back on the road, but not being experienced enough and being scared will have you doing other things when the moment is happening. Also sometimes the car is just to far gone to save.

I can say what I would have done and tried but there isn't a 100% fail proof way to stop it. Also this was a run with 15 other cars on a highway where when most people are in groups there is bound to be a little testing your car out. This road is known for that so save the I'm better crap for others. He shared his screw up to let people know what can happen and I commend him for doing that given he could sit back and not say a damn word.

So moral of the story is just chill and quit attacking everyone that says something other then how you feel. Glad you can and know all from not being at a place.

Even the pros wreck and as much as some of you on here think your the only perfect driver and never make a mistake ,well your in your own little world. Most people that say they never wrecked a car has never really ran a car hard for very long.

I've never see a pro driver hit parked vehicles on a public road

Bingo. No excuse for hitting the accelerator like that coming out of the turn other than you're trying to show off/be cool.

Never in my life have I seen fanboys [on this site and the GTO site] like these GTO guys...

It'll be interesting to see the GTO fanboys argue this one, simple, irrefutable point.

You've never seen it, but it stands to reason that screwups on public highways have happened at some point before or during someone's career.

I refuted the point, and I'm a Camaro fanboy. Quick google search pulls up one example. http://www.wtsp.com/news/national/st...?storyid=57067

Here's another:http://www.wmctv.com/global/story.asp?s=6668755

You quoted the same story twice. Please reference where the pro driver hit parked cars on a public road.

Were have I said what I would have done in that situation? Besides I don't drive like that on public roads. I don't think I'm better than anyone. I drive my vehicles the way I want to where it doesn't impose on others on public roads. Not attacking just trying to understand why others defend this guy? He didn't own up to it or share it first! It was posted by someone else then he states he put in his police report that he was destracted by the cameras and lost control cause of wet roads. I guess him just saying yeah it was me is owning up?

So your close to a pro driver? So your points are the most valid? So from what you said above you drive like this on public roads? If your a pro driver then you save this for the track?Cudos to you for having the best performance parts on the market cause that makes you a better driver!

So if I say I'm a pro does that make my views more valid for this video?

I do tracks days on my bikes and take my car to the track! Thats were I drive the way these machines are meant to be driven!

EDIT: Just wanted to bold this! There is a 100% fail proof way to stop this! It's to not drive like that!

Thank you

I have not been trying to turn this into a GTO fanboy thing! If this was a Camaro I would be typing/saying the same things.

nobody is arguing that mistakes happen, but people defending him like it wasn't stupid..? come on now. even the guy that wrecked knows it was a dumb mistake. this isn't about pro vs amateur driving.

he was driving on a public road, harder then his skill level would allow him to, almost wrecked it into the guard rail, then immediately afterwards continues driving too hard into the next corner, didn't know how to correct the mistake, and paid a hefty price for it.

he manned up and called himself out on it, but he's falling back to blaming the water on the road rather then the root cause, which is the only part I have a problem with.

All I'm saying is don't act like you know the full situation.

He could have been half throttle to get up the hill, the auto downshifted unexpectedly and due to the wet roads he went sideways. Its happened to me plenty of times.

The people camping the corners with cameras are a distraction and I am sure there have been more incidents.
