Great thread. Very common questions being asked here with some pretty good answers.
As a manufacturer and importer we can say this: While the offsets need to be correct for the given car/application. Certain styles are inherintly better at clearing brake calipers then others. Of course you can make any wheel clear a brake caliper if you keep making the offset lower and lower until the wheel clears the brake. But, by that time the wheel might be sticking out of the fender. Obviously, that is no good. And here in, lies the trick for us wheel companies to make a wheel that, 1. clears the brakes 2. can be made in the correct offsets to fit correctly 3. be made in the correct sizes and 4. look nice (i.e. big lips etc...) Like Sir Nuke is trying to say. |

Front 20X8 5X4.75 +35 2010 CAMARO CHROME WITH CAP
Rear 20X9 5X4.75 +40 2010 CAMARO CHROME WITH CAP I'm assuming this is the bolt pattern. Can't find the stock set-up for the wheels. These are factory reproductions that are chrome so they are most likely fine. I'll call to double check but I just wanted to see if anyone knows the stock wheels Offset and bolt pattern are on a SS Camaro. Edit: Found everything except the stock bolt pattern... does anyone know this??

Nuke:
What is the maximum width wheel that will fit into the rear wheel well without causing problems? I wanted to replace the OEM's on my car with the 2010 Grand Sport's, however, the parts dept. at my dealer said that there would be an issue with clearance and the bolt pattern. I really wanted this configuration (275/35-18s in front and 325/30-19s in back) except 19's up front with the Corvette wheel. Do you know of a company that makes a reproduction of this wheel for our car? Thanks, Jeff |

Jeff, as far as I know, the widest wheel I have seen used with no issues is an 11". I can't tell which wheels it was, but that width will work. The thing that has to be RIGHT, is the offset and of course the bolt pattern. but since you mentioned you are wanting to use 19's.....you just need to be careful for the clearance for the brakes.
and No, I don't know of a specific company making REPOs of those wheels, but then again, I havn't looked for them either.

I think the stock Corvette rear calipers are also very small compared to the Camaro's Brembos, so there could be a clearance issue there too. Good Luck.
