I worked in the automotive field for about 27 yrs. I did everything from parts delivery to parts management and training to master tech for GM.

I walked away from that and currently work for Colorado Dept of Corrections.

Dont laugh. I am a manager at a cookie store inside the mall. Here is the kicker. It's my 11th year working for this company. It was my first job at 16 and now I am 27. Only job I have ever had. Good thing is come January im suppose to buy the store and become my own boss and hopefully make good $$ because believe it or not we are busy and make a lot of sales! It's a ton of fun working there but it is still retail and the hours can suck especially on holidays like tomorrow when everyone else is off and I have to work!

So the big box stores haven't killed your malls?

All of ours are dead ghost towns now.

Well it varies per location. My mall is a really good mall that serves a pretty large area. There are 26 stores in our company all
across the northeast and southeast and quite
a few of them are way way slow. You'd be amazed how much $$ ppl spend on impulse things!
