With the numbers it put up at VIR it looks to be a beast in a straight line or around a turn.

Nobody is going to be able to find anything in here and they're just going to continue to post questions and news about the mustang in the other vehicles sub-forum because they won't be able to tell if it's a re-post. Good job, you've single handedly ruined the solution to the problem in this section and now you're acting like a jackass 13 year old about it when I'm trying to discuss with you why this isn't going to work. You're just making more work for yourself. Did you even look at the sticky and realize how much easier it would have made this for you or did you do what I think you did and just come in and merge every thread with the word mustang in it? It doesn't take a genius to see this is not going to help anything.

Let me ask you a question - What happens when somebody here is wondering what kind of track times the mustang runs? Do you really think they're going to look through 40 pages of this thread? Or will they just make another thread asking how the camaro will fare against it, while cluttering up this sub-forum even more? The sticky fixed that problem. This obviously does not. I'll ask this again, was this just your doing or did all of you mods decide on this? The admin and other moderators discussed the sticky with me and supported it, so I would be very surprised if they supported this.
I did a search of this thread and in ten seconds I had easily 5-10 track times on the new mustang just by doing a search of the words "ran a"...

Why would a CAMARO website have a Mustang Sticky? If I'm wrong by the majority of Admin'/Mods'/Members/Sponsors/Vendors then I'll change my angle. I'm sorry Mustang information on a Camaro website is not readily available for you. Your name calling is not necessary nor called for. It's not work for me. I volunteered to be a Mod'; I never complained except for seeing thread after thread of the same bloody information. What - you want specs'? Go to Ford's website and build yourself a Mustang. You want performance data? Go to a Ford/Mustang forum and I'm sure you'll find out a lot of great information too. I know that we have a few great contributing members here that drive Mustangs, and I have to utmost respect for those individuals. As far as me being smart - I never claimed to be. What would be easier than merging a new Mustang thread into an existing one? And, not that it matters to you, but I haven't merged every Mustang thread into this one. There are at least a few that I haven't in this Section because they had a different angle to the, like the Livernois thread with the Taurus and GT; that was a different twist. I'm sorry to have disappointed you. Maybe I should resign...

Absolutely. I just hope it does 0-60 in 3.9s or less. It has got to beat the 4 sec threshold into supercar territory!

I'm sorry this thread objective didn't help you with your future purchase I'm sorry - but when it seems apparent the only people having a problem with this are those who aren't in this community for CAMARO, I can't help but not have a lot of sympathy...

Does anyone else wonder why they stayed with the 5.4 with a s/c versus the new 5.0? I would think they could have gotten to 550 with less boost? I am not real familiar with forced and induction and direct injection being combined but surely it could be done fairly easy? Not knocking the Shelby, hell I am even asking for more punishment because you would think they would get 600 horses out of their new engine with forced induction? Is it development time for the new engine? If so the next iteration will be damn scary....as if the current one is not!

Not even sure what your post means, but I enjoy all performance cars, Camaro and, yes, gasp! Mustang too. I guess I don't have a thin skin. Mustang is a primary competitor to Camaro, and as such, merits discussion here.

The 5.4 is the same block as the Ford GT Supercar. In fact reviewers say it is better than the Ford GT engine. That fact alone gives me goosebumps. Imagine having a car with an engine from a supercar for $50k?

The Shelby GT350 uses a supercharged 5.0 engine. I'd be interested to know the stats of that car, but I bet it will be a heavier car.

What I'm guessing is, based on the fact that the 5.0 evolved from the FR500C engine, I'm thinking that it was a highly tuned racing engine that eventually ran its course on the racing circuit and Ford decided to make them available on regular GTs. Prior to that the 5.4 iron block was available on the 2007 GT500, and I'm guessing that since the 5.0 wasn't available for non-racing cars at the time, the SVT made a cheaper version of the Ford GT Supercar engine to put in the halo Mustang. Over time, they figured, why not just use the Aluminum Ford GT engine - it doesn't make sense to not use their old engines in their current cars. Meanwhile of course, the 2011 GT got the 5.0.

The 5.4 engine, since it's always been used for the Shelby GT500 is the common-sense engine to use, since it's tried and true and they are merely evolving the technology. Doesn't make sense in my opinion, to throw away those learnings and start over with a supercharged 5.0.

They engineered the 5.0 from the beginning to handle forced induction down the line. So it is coming. Heck you will be able to go to Ford dealers and have them install their supercharger pack for the new 5.0 and still have your warranty.

Much like you can take your 2010+ GT500 to the dealer and have them install the "super pack", if that is the correct name, and keep your warranty. They replace the blower with a more efficient TVS blower and up the boost. They rate the cars at 660hp like that, full warranty.

Don't know when we see production 5.0s with superchargers. Although I thought I heard they would be offered in Australia this year.

Want to discuss it? Go right ahead. We aren't preventing that. Talk about anything and everything related to the 2011 Mustang here. Performance, mod-ability, styling, pricing, dyno runs, availability, gripes ... do it all, right here, in this thread.
