Health Physics! Are we just spouting off what our preferred major/line of work is?

Yes!

And what the heck is Health Physics?

Kinesiology was my major in school w/ a premed track. This sounds quite similar actually. Is it like Biomechanics?

So...

Is that like physics with some health, or health with some physics?

I couldn't do software, right now my interests are in database, systems and networking.

I have learned that to get anywhere far in security, you need to have a deep understanding of how Assembly language works. A lot of security has to deal with the reference to locations in memory and so forth.

I currently am a part time help desk and recently got word that I am being promoted to a senior level full time user support position.

Holy crap congrats man! That's so awesome, how long have you been part-time help desk?

Yeah I'm definitely going to have to do more schooling to be competitive in the IT security sector. My goal is to rough it out as a part timer until I get offered something fulltime from the college I work for (benefits!!)

Congrats again buddy, sounds like you're just a couple steps ahead from me! I'll catch up soon enough :P

IT FTW

Thanks, it will be hard doing both school and full time but it will be worth it in the end. I am currently a junior in my program with 44 hours left till graduation.

As for how long I have been working, I started off as an intern in February of 13, got promoted to OPS in September of 13 and then full time in December of 14. I have been in the same organization for all three positions and I have learned a lot from them. More than I have learned from school honestly.
