The reality is a pro driver better than 99.99 percent of us just ran the Shelby. He got a best of 11.81 @ 123. The GM engineers (NOT PRO) ran a best 11.9 with the ZL1. Some magazine drivers got 12.7 with the Shelby, just like some guys have gotten horrible times with ZL1. Nine times out of ten down the 1/4 mile I would have my money on Shelby, but its times are not out of this world by any means.

Also you forgot to mention the 11.9 run was on drag tires.

Don't bother, because it's not going to change his mind. People who want to believe the truth about this cars will. The information has been presented. Others will believe everything their manufacturer, forum, etc. tell them.

12.06@121 is the best time by one of the engineers, Evan ran but I haven't heard the time, he is about to go again

No they're all done. The event is officially over.

Best time of the day was Evan Smith running 11.81 @ 123 mph.

You realize SRT8tech (among others) have bettered Evans time in the 11-12 GT500s? Srt8 ran 12.018 bone stock on stock tires in his 12 GT500. Do you really think with an extra 112 HP, launch control, and an even better sorted suspension the 13 is only going to be around 2/10ths better? Also, as for the times GM got, I will believe them when a private owner, or at least a magazine, is able to get those times on stock tires.....

I just don't know what we are suppose to be reading into here? The Shelby is fast yes, faster than the ZL1 in the 1/4 mile yes. The best time from a pro driver was 11.81 seconds and the best from the Ford engineer was 12.06 @ 121 mph. A GM engineer got a 11.9 on stock tires. Ford could have brought a ZL1 with them to this event if they thought it would be soo easy to beat. Or they could have brought a Z06 or even at GT-R like we had to go up against on a cold, dusty, track in the middle of winter in AZ.

Not a single ZL1 owner, no Camaro tuner, has been able to get sub-11sec on pure 100% stock ZL1. But GM engineers somehow managed to get under 12 on stock tires. I say they are way better drivers than Evan Smith.

Here is what a C5 member posted here today in the thread that got closed.

My best friend Chris Jacobson and I, were there for Chevys behind the scenes at the drag strip. The 11.9x times the engineers got, we're both on fresh Nitto Drag radials, which we both do not know why they did not mention this at the end of there video. Yes, they were stock, but with Nitto DR's. The best times they were seeing on street tires, was mid-12's.
