L-89 396-375hp
Chevrolet produced 311 factory built 396-375hp L-89 aluminum head 375 horsepower Camaros that year.

L78-L89 also available, RPO, in Malibu SS.

L66, 396 2bbl, was a Full-size offering. Torque-monster for cheap.

Since we have everyone (?!) edu-ma-cated on obscure engines:

In 1969 how many versions of the 427 were offered in Passanger Car Chev-OH-lets? And, of course, name them...

My good friend in Florida just sold his extremely rare numbers matching 1969 Impala SS convertible with the 427 and a factory 4 speed. Also had a factory bench seat I found very strange.... ?.
Anyway, he told me 3 passenger cars 427's engines were available and I a guessing they were the 400, 430 & 435. Again, all this from memory so not positive.

^^ Just looked it up- Couldn't stand the suspense- lol ^^
One site ( 1969chev.com ) states there were 3 427's available as stated but and they were the 335- LS1, the 390 L36, and the "secret" 425 H.P. L72 of which 456 were built.
