Oh yeah but same here has been many years as well. Glad to see it's alive and well!

Almost like a go-by to steal a plane. I would think if they needed to repo one they could just show the FBO their papers and have them pull the plane out and fly away. Maybe it's that easy but doesn't make for good tv.
Yeah I'm sure a lot of that is staged for TV but there has to be a few Repos that do get hairy. On the other hand at an old employer back in the 80's they had a small fleet of planes that they just left at the Airport and let the Company come Repo them without objection. Come into work the other night and see Runway 18C flanked by at least a dozen emergency/crash vehicles. Turns out a Delta 752 bound for Ft Lauderdale out of DTW decided to smoke out the cockpit mid flight and had to make an emergency landing. Touched down, full reverse, took the first taxiway he could to the gate driving it like 'F**k this sh!t, I'm out.." Crash trucks chasing this thing down and around like little wind up RC cars. Got a good chuckle.

Didn't get the people out till sometime around midnight, probably didn't land till around 3 or 4. Luckily nothing else has come of it so CVG got a new hangar queen. :/

A few days ago a B-17 was flying around my area, I assume it was giving people rides out of our local airport.

Anyways, I've always had a passion for the SR-71 as my great uncle worked on the program for LMCO. My wedding ring is made from a piece of the world record holding 61-7972:

And I also have this:

Which is a flag that was flown on the world record setting flight.

My collection of SR-71 stuff is pretty vast; but military aviation as a whole captivates me. My uncle spent 28 years in the air force, starting out with the B-52 at K.I. Sawyer AFB, and retiring off of Air Force One, which afforded me an all access walk through of the plane:

And here's my uncle with Col. Tillman, the pilot of AF1 at my uncle's retirement ceremony:

Just tripped into this thread - great stuff. Here is a shot of one of the more unusual and rare flying things around today. Took the shot at an air show a few years back.

It's time to laugh at the Iranians again. This country is the short bus of nation states!

Behold their latest weapon: An airplane that can't leave ground effects.

Allah help them if a Cessna with a BB gun shows up!

That is some really old Soviet tech right there. The idea is that it is part plane, part boat. You can move faster than the opposing naval forces. The Soviets intended to use it to move troops and equipment quickly and stealthily but I guess the Iranians think they are going to sink our navy in the Gulf with those things.

I saw that on TV once. It was dubbed "The Caspian Sea Monster". Like you said, it was intended to be a big, fast transport. One other advantage that was touted was fuel economy. It might have been a good idea for WWII to avoid U-boats (Can anyone say "Spruce Goose"?), but even the Russians realized the vulnerabilities and scrapped the project.
From what I see from the Iranians: Since this design looks unlikely to be capable of carrying any weapons systems, I think the higher ups are thinking of the "Kamakaze" potential of these things to skim across the water loaded with explosives, and ram ships. Considering our ships are armed with Phalanx systems that can nail an incoming object the size of a fence post end-on, moving at supersonic speed; I don't think these throw-backs to the twenties will be much of a challenge. At best they will provide an entertaining fireworks show for our sailors. "Ooooooh"

I know I posted this in the past. Just figured I would post again. This is me on cam last year doing my yearly upset recovery training in an Extra 300. We finished the profile early and had some fun.
