It is a type of knot taught in the boy scouts and in rescue squads. It is most commonly used to make a harness around an unconscious victim so that you can pull them back in.

First off my apologies to everyone playing for disapparing for a couple days. Had to go out of town for some work and was swamp the whole time.

Stieger was correct.

Now back to Stieger's "TMI"....I have seen this a couple diffderent ways. First is "too much information" where one gets way more then they needed. The other is "Three Mile Island".

either one?

"carafe"
It is a quantity of wine that has been poured out of its original bottle to allow the beverage to "breathe" before it is consumed.

New word: "Egregious".

You fellahs had me stumped for a bit. I'm on the task now.

Okay, time is lagging. "Egregious" means seriously a bad action or behavior by a person or persons.

New word: "Mare"

It means the skin.

New word: "Bespoke". Admittedly, this is a somewhat tougher one.

Alright, the "mare" definition was rejected, so onto the next contestant.
Perinneal is a bit misspelled, but I believe we are speaking of a word that means continuing for a longer time. It is used in regards, for instance, with plants that live beyond a year's seasonal cycle.

New word: "Triptych"

The skipped word: "Bespoke" means previously but non-specifically made. An off-the-rack article of clothing is "bespoke" as in the short story: "Bespoke Overcoat" by the Russian author, Nikolai Gogol.

Whoops, "triptych" was too esoteric, right? It means one of those three Middle Ages or Renaissance panels painting that are hinged together and stand behind the altar in a cathedral. Hieronymus Bosch painted a famous one called Earthly Delights, I believe.

Replacement word: "Pendulum".
