I bought the same magazine also hahaha. Im not planning to buy online anywhere. Im gonna stick to the numerous shops thats around or within a 100 miles or so. Im sure I can find something, I just dont want no .223 or 5.56 AR

If you plan on target shooting at less than 1000 yards for 99% of the time, a .308 is more than enough.
Long range i know of is a private one at 600 yards. So a .308 is what i should get. I'll try and convince myself.

I just ordered from FNH a two Scar 16's and two Scar 17's. The 16 is coming with their stock pinned 14.5" barrel with their optional 10" barrel and the Scar 17 standard 16" barrel with the optional 13" barrel. Should get the standard length barrels/firearm in two weeks and the SBR barrels in three weeks! Will try to remember to take a pic when they arrive!

Wow someone just spent some serious money.

I was looking at some Scar's a couple weeks ago and the Scar 17 is going for almost $5k each and the Scar 16 is almost $3k each.

The Remington 700 SPS V is a great starting point for a .308 rifle. It has a 26" heavy barrel. I want to say 1:12 rifling twist but that is fast enough for most .308 caliber bullets.

Yes deff want 26" barrel

funny as it's just what I found
Anyway, it is probably what I will end up getting. I've convinced myself that I'll probably never be good enough anyway to use the full potential of a .308. Now another question is... what scope to I go with? I would like my budget to be $600ish...

I have a Bushnell Elite Tactical 3200 that I linked a couple posts ago. It's a solid scope and was less than $500.

Don't forget rings, base, bi pod and ammo. Lots of ammo, which isn't cheap right now. Match grade .308 is around $1.25 a shot.

I bought a SPS in .30-06 for a longer range target rifle. I mounted a Bushnell Tactical Elite 3200 5-15X magnification and it's a solid scope.

The Bushnell Elite Tactical that I'm talking about is either fixed 10x or 5-15x. I have the 5-15x.

Beware the Senate's bill. If you haven't heard, there have already been some amendments put in. Of course they didn't say anything about it on the news that I've seen... But the AWB is in..
