That would mean production is probably going to start sometime in September ... earlier than I would have thought given GMs "production will start in fall 2014" statement. Although ... fall begins the 3rd week of September, so I guess it still fits.

Makes sense

well I was thinking all along they would start production in September, that is why I have been scratching my head as to why price and MPG's have not been released yet..this is July...

Dad has a 2011 model with a V8, he's thinking of trading it in when these come out.

I'm definitely leaning towards the Canyon in 4 door with a diesel if the price is right and mileage is good

Gonna take wild uneducated guesses in the wake of pure boredom. Starting base MSRP-$22,785-17/26 MPG with manual trans 2WD 4 cylinder ext. cab. $31,665-19/24 MPG with a V6 Z71 4WD ext. cab.

Those prices sound good to me, but the MPG IMO would be a disappointment. V-8 silverado 4X4 is rated at 16/22

I agree. Just setting expectations low so ill hopefully be pleasantly surprised later. An 8 speed trans and the LGX instead of LFX should raise those numbers but that's just a dream right now. I expect great things from the diesel but we won't be getting those numbers anytime soon, looks like.

Ill be waiting for the Diesel option if its not priced too high like 35k or something crazy like that and still want to know how big the Tank is going to be.

I don't see that happening any time soon. The Tacoma has been the king of mid sized trucks for many years, and they keep their value on the used market for a reason..

With that said I wish I had held out buying my tacoma till these hit the streets as I like what I'm seeing, hope they are what they seem to be..
