hmmmm....interesting. i do remember my iphone4 having pretty good battery life. i've never owned the 4s or 5...i don't think they are any worse than the galaxy s2 though. i just recently changed to a new battery a few weeks ago. before that, it would last maybe 4 hours on standby. While playing games or watching youtube, it would turn off completely when at about 55% battery life. When i try to turn it back on, it says there' slike 2% left. The new battery helped a ton, but i can already tell it's fading fast.

i do take a lot of pics and video of my daughter, so i'm sure i'll get good use out of the 16gb.

That is up to you, but kids love to play with phones and as she gets older she is going to want to use it more and more. Like to call her mom at night. I knew how to use a phone when I was 5, I use to call my grand parents.

Can't comment on the S2, never had one. My Note is fairly good, but not as good as the 4 by a long shot. It does have a ginormous screen, and 4G LTE and those are battery killers so I give a small pass on that. The 4S's were horrible. But your personal mileage may vary
